DO YOU SUBSCRIBE?

To Fine Scale Modeler, or any other monthly pubs? I am asking because I let mine lapse, and am having serious reservations about ponying-up that kind of cash to read that particular mag.

Any thoughts?

I used to subscribe to Finescale, but their content and page count went down so much, I did not feel it was worth having. I do subscribe to MMIR, it is well done, although they are getting slower about putting out issues. Frankly, I get more from this forum than anything else.

I subscribe to Military Modeler. Only one. I look at FSM but they are light on details and heavy on adverts.

Only model mag I get is playboy- I would subscribe to SAM, but here in the USA thats 90 bucks a year.

I have a subscription to FSM, and I go to the bookstore every month and pick up Model Railroader.

Occasionally I'll pick up other magazines, but w/ most other mag's being 2-3 dollars, or more, expensive than FSM, I tend to not get them unless there's a specific article that catches my eye.

Frankly in the beginning Around 1981 they had a pretty good magazine ( for the day ).
Ever since then, the size and quality of their product has been going steadily downhill while the price has gone in the other direction.
It seem that they are now in the business of selling special editions "on how to "instead of placing those articles in the subscription magazines.
Needless to say my subscription died some time ago.

Now days I buy some mags if I find one that I can use. All the good one seem to be published in England and are pricey. Therefore I only get them based on my needs.

The only subscription i have is on a Belgium magazine, Art of Modelling.
A real nice mag with alot of how-to and great step by step builds, it comes out 6 times a year.
Available in netherlands, french and german language.
Even if i don't understand everything, just looking at the pics is a good help

Yes I subscribe to FSM,I do enjoy it.

I like Scale Military Modeler International,but the subscription price is a bit much for me,if I see one I like I grab at Barnes and Noble once in awhile

Right here on on MA and Swannies and the skype Chat I have started is about all an modeler needs.

I do but keep asking myself why, latest issue is a good example of why I shouldn't. Like others I would prefer SAMI or one of the other British mags but subscription costs are ridiculous so I get one occasionally from Sprue Brothers if the the cover interests me.
