Despite it's flaws, I am calling this figure done so I can move on to the other two and hopefully have the vignette done by New Years.
I wasn't able to resize the photos the way I would like with the programs on my home and work computers and I hadn't tried the app that Jeeves suggested, so just stand back from the screen until the pictures of the figure match the size of a 1/35 scale figure...
Anyway, here he is with the 9th Infantry Division patch, name tag, US Army tape, and CIB on his shirt. The back is covered with sweat. His trousers are a slightly different shade and are a bit dirty. His arms show the scratches made by wait-a-minute vines he encountered on multiple patrols. His notepad contains information he needs to pass on to his squad from the meeting he just came back from. His boots are scuffed up from many weeks in the bush.
Thanks for looking. Hope to have more pictures to post of the other two figures soon.

I noticed the dirt on the guy's rear end, would never have thought of that. Makes a lot of sense being out in the boonies that there would be stuff caked all over the uniform.

Due to the holiday, I did not get to work on this project as much as I would have liked, but I did start on the second figure - the Soldier holding the puppy.
The paint on the face went on a bit smoother. The arms show the wait-a-minute vine cuts and scars. I applied a satin varnish for the sweaty look. I painted the first coat of the base color of the uniform and since the photos were taken have applied additional coats for an even finish. This week I will work on shading and highlighting as I can after work.

Here is the second figure just about complete - just need to blow some dust particles off that I saw in the photos and dirty up the uniform and boots. Paint still isn't quite as smooth as I would like, but with having to have the heat on, the air in the house is pretty dry. I think it looks pretty decent though, especially with the naked eye in 1/35 scale.
Now on to the next figure!

I cain't say how much I admire the way your show us all your figure modeling process! Share the tips, and techniques.
Inspire other Modelers to broaden their skill-sets. This is what I believe places you, as a model maker and M/A Member, head and shoulders above most Figure builders.

I ended up changing the composition up a bit by adding some figures and getting rid of the other sitting guy that was present in the concept photo. Now, this figure is the one asking if they can keep the puppy. He is a conversion of a Bravo 6 figure with a new head from Hornet, a different left arm and hand, and hair added with putty.
So far I have only painted the skin tones and the t-shirt. The trousers have the base coat and black outlining and deepest shadows applied.
Hopefully I will be able to get this figure completed this weekend.
