Camera stolen

Unfortunately it appears that one of my sons so-called friends walked out of the house with my camera in his fingers. Until I either have recovered the camera or bought a new one I won't be able to post any pics, which is unfortunate for the Braille GB. Which lets me come to ask: what cameras are you guys using? due to budget restraints I am looking at a $200 max camera.

Joe

Ouch, that sucks. The camera that I am using is a Nikkon Coolpix 8.0 megapixel camera (it's a small camera) and it went for $150 new a few years back when I got it. Hope this helps, and sorry about your camera....
Steven

indeed - ouch! oucheroonie!

i use a fuji finepix s1500 bridgecamera with 10mpix!

takes quite good pics and sells for 130-150$ at the moment!

i think that bob (the moonpup bob, junior) uses the same! :)

I'm a lovin' that Fuji camera, yes it's the same thing and it's made (well some of it) right here in little ol' Greenwood SC, my hometown, inspite of that it's still a good camera.

I had a Canon Powershot A590 is, I loved that camera and I just got used to it. it had all my IPMS review pics on there

I'm sorry about the camera...
Do you need us to come and visit him... ;)
I don't know how close your son is with the guys, but ask him to
talk with him about returning it???
(you might want to file a police report and check the local pawn shops
if you have any in your area). You might be able to get it back for
nothing but your time with the police or at least at a good price.
(I know it sucks to have to get it back that way, but if you are
used to using it and it works for you???)
I have a Fuji Finepix 2600Zoom 2.0 Mega Pixels (my old camera)
I have a Kodak EasyShare Z650 6.1 Mega Pixels (my current camera0
and the wife has a Kodak EasyShare Z980 that has a wide angle zoom
that is even more hard corps than mine.
Hope this helps.
Sorry for you loss.
Shawn

That IS too bad, Joe, I was hoping it would show up again. Hopefully your son can put some pressure on him to get it back. If I was still there, I'd loan you mine or at least come take some pix for you.

Joe,
I also think you should file a report. Would also check for other missing items.
I use a Canon powershot 530 and the macro setting takes some fine photo's. Check my blackbeard in the figure section of TnT. It was originally a $200 camera.
Cheers
John

I wouldnt let this go either Leopard Id speak to son and see if he can talk sense to someone about the virtues of not getting the coppers involved
Firstly an amnesty thats if its returned then alls good
then if that dont work start putting on the pressure
Do you know which "friend" it was?

This happened to my Brother years and years ago he brought some people home from the Scouts one day and my Dads credit card was lifted,...the old bill got involved in this case though as large sums of money were removed from my Dads account :(

it was terrible especially as Dad used to tell us he never had no money :(
:D

I spoke with my son and at this point everyone of his friends are banned from the house, even the ones that werent here that day. And he already asked the people that were here that day but of course nobody knows anything. But the kids that were not here that day are pretty upset now because they cant come over anymore so there might be some pressure out now.

Greetings and Salutations Friends

As this is a very friendly site, I won't go into my way of dealing with thieves...

But it involves two buckets of petrol and a blowlamp

Because I used to work as a pro photographer, my gear tends towards the upper end of the range.

I've got a pair of Canon DSLRs, an 8.2mp EOS 20D and an 18mp EOS 7D, plus a whole bunch of lenses and stuff from my old life.

For the money you're talking about, you should be able to get something suitable. Build up a rapport with a good dealer, sound advice is priceless.

Simon
