Big Vietnamese Cobra Pit Placeholder for ICM 32nd Scale AH-1G x5 Build

OK, which one of you has a 32nd scale F-4B and is willing to do this 15 second to mince meat load out? If you show me the kit, I will give you my leftover SUU-11B/A (Army designation XM18E1) for free! However, you'll need to get more! Count them!

Yeah there is the new F4B that is now on the market, but it is almost as expensive as the Ferdinand I just got. So no F4's for me. If someone came out with a F-101 Voodoo in 1/32 I might be a taker for that, but need to step back from new kits again. :bash:

I remember reading about this somewhere. Don't know if they actually flew or even fired them all like this, not sure they could fire them all at once.
@phantom II Chris you recall anything? Didn't they load it up more as a joke, kinda like the toilet on the Sandy?

Bad news from Poland... Thanks to tariffs and other international rules, the 5 pound package would cost $120USD to ship so I asked Herbert (@dewertus) not to send it until that is over. I will need to rearrange the order of which subjects to continue to work on in the meantime. I am heavily considering swapping #1 Du Me Mi with The Great Spekled Bird.

I'm not aware of this Bob Google claims those were meant for helicopters
but were experimental.

I wondered why the resin replacement turrets didnt have blanking plates:

Well, all photos show them not to be in place!

Even the manual:

By the time you read this, all three plastic turrets will have the blanking plates removed. Internal structures to hold the weapons are next, then external fasteners for the hinges and latches to finish them off.

Several aircraft used the SUU-11A/A and B variants. The Army called them the M18 and M18E1 for their helos. mostly for COIN so seen on AH-1 Sandys and A-37 Tweetys during 'Nam...

The picture of the crashed Cobra. I was there removing the rockets from the pods. The ship was 040 and it is today at a WFW in Sateside NC. At least I think that's the name of the town. It crashed after during a test rocket run both pods, one on each side had a hung rocket that burned out the back of the pods and knocked off the tailrotor. It came down in a dry rice paddy and rolled over. Capt. Cranny was in the back seat and SP/5 Cauldwell in the front. They were on a test flight. I had 18 days left in country. Gary S.

Well, thanks to Squadron having the Special Hobby AH-1G at 40% off as well as my having a $10 coupon, another is on the way! So, once I get the one from Poland, there will be FIVE (5) Cobras!

Gary, the dots on the bottom of the rocket pods, at one time I thought they looked like hinges but now I think they might be drain holes... MAnual doesn't mention them! I guess I better look at more photos.
