I've had reasonable luck in the past using dish soap for softening/removing adhesive goop. Glad you were able to take care of it w/o a bunch of rework.

Finally had a chance to get the underside color on. This is the second color as the first try was too blue and needed to be lightened and grayed more. Gary S

The gray violet first then gray green and cleaned up the mott with 76 lt. gray blue. Tape removed and looks good. Gary S.

Panel lines done with pencil. Upper fuselage panel lines highlighted with white oils. Lighter areas to be done with gray oils. Gary S.
