I saw your post the other day about trying to figure out how to light this, and it got me thinking. I wonder if you'd be better off using a couple (2-4) surface mount LED's. They are very small, so you'd be able to fit multiple pieces in the helmet, the smaller ones are only 2-2.5mm long and less than 1mm thick. That way you'd be able to get more surrounding light than you would w/ a single light source. And then maybe put a piece of tissue paper over the LED's that way it would help to difuse the light so its not so bright & harsh.

First of all,I need to paint all the madness I after that to find the better solution with the lights.I need to check various solutions.The figure is big enough(14 cm without helmet) to support different sizes of leds/systems....We'll see
