Somewhat of a start, been pretty busy. Detail is nice and some early test fitting seems good. Will be doing the shark mouth bird called Evalina.

Cool! I'd like to hear that story! Are they Japanese?

A P-51C with the charming name “Evalina” was the first and, as it turned out, last fully airworthy North American Mustang to be captured by the Japanese. Intensive tests followed by demonstration flights at combat units convinced both veterans and commanders of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force that their most recent “acquisition” was a truly fantastic aircraft – the fulfilment of every fighter pilot’s dreams.

The North American P-51C-11-NT Mustang with registration number 44-10816 (manufactured at the Dallas plant in Texas as 111-28949) was the personal airplane of First Lieutenant Oliver E. Strawbridge.

At the turn of 1945, the fighter was stationed in China with the 26th Fighter Squadron, itself an element of the 51st Fighter Group. The unit’s combat trail had started in India and proceeded through Burma and China, ending in French Indochina, a territory that comprised present-day Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Umm.......... The cool Arma Hobby 1/72 P-51B kit comes with the Evaline decals, does it not? :bm:

More progress, the fit is excellent. Minor clean and trim here and there. My only complaint so far and it's not a hit at the kit is the sprue gate attachments. They are thick in a few areas and care must be taken when removing them.

Added some lead wire to the radio..its out of scale but the smallest I had. Still got some seam work to do.

If you want some soft smaller wire, just anneal some copper wire and it will be as soft as the lead wire. It is also available in smaller sizes.

Pacific theatre Allison Mustangs had Radio Direction Finder loop antennas there. Same as ADF but you rotate the loop manually to home in on the source of radio broadcasts for navigation.
