All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Watched Captain America 2 with the boy last night while the girls were out of town...then practiced some baseball and played Carcassone and King of Tokyo with him to celebrate International Tabletop Gaming Day ;)

Well, Moon, I also spent the day gardening. Amazing how much much a small backyard can get out of ya! Pole clippers were used to cut back the neighbor's Bougainvillea and the towering sheflera, raking aout the corners, fidding with the lights, etc. The woman put in some tomatoes, so I toted the soil, plus mulch. Not a bad day, and things are looking pretty. :good:

And I got some good bench time in today. Tracks are done, first layers of paint on them. Painted the interior of the B10 black, going to paint the inside dull aluminum. No reference just a hunch.

Hope everyone else is getting some bench time in (y)

Put an order in for some decals for my Stuka and a Ju88 that's waiting in the stash.
The Stuka needed some Zwastikas for the tailfin and then some masks for the canopy, for the Ju88 it was a set of decals incl. the zwastikas :)
I find it so stupid that you can't build a historically correct model because of the zwastika ban in Germany, then there is a lot of other symbols that should be forbidden to, i have no interest in the nazi politics i just wanna build the model so it looks like the real thing :drinks

Here is the sheet for the Ju88

I would be making a stencil Matts

Yard work today, some softball practice with Grace. Then sort some junk, finish painting a shifter knob and if all goes good maybe some bench time. :good:

Battling a chest cold and really grumpy that I have to sort the PzIII chassis box. It was what I wanted to avoid by selling as a lot. Well, it turns out that there were more than just those kits listed so now I have to figure out which kits they were or if they are simply left overs since Dragon is so generous to the parts bin (I think the latter since I didn't find any new chassis or upper hulls).

Regards,

Well went down to the garage to do a little modeling. Sat down and started sanding on one of the bits and out of the corner of my eye I see in the drawer, a little furry thing coming out to see what I'm doing. No, I didn't scream like a girl (that's reserved for snakes) but it did startle me.

I've known for a long time I got mice down there, occasionally I'd see one out of the corner of my eye scurrying under a shelf or something. I went out and bought those sonic pest things hoping to just drive them off, guess it didn't work. Nope, guess I'm going to have to resort to stronger methods. Don't really want to poison them but they leave me no choice... :soldier

Easiest way to catch amouse today is to bait it with an old desktop PC. It'll draw the mouse in.

We lived in a house that was next to a vacant field. Mice used to come in once teperatures cooled in the fall. I used to practice my fast draw and shoot them with 1/2 inch wax wad cutters fired from my 38 revolver. I'd make them by loading the primer but no powder then press the open end of the cartridge into the hardened wax poured into a round tobacco can lid. That wax wad would kill a mouse at 16 feet.

Cheers from Peter

Personaly I prefer to go all "Big white hunter" on them and shoot my rats with the air pellet gun :fencing

PC Boxes I have, didn't think about them being nest. I'll pull the hard drives from them and trash them. Afraid I can't shoot them, not sure I'm that good a shot, I mean this is a mouse not a field rat (think I would have screamed like a girl then!) Besides I'd probably blow a hole in something that don't need a hole in it, like propane!

Nope, little pellets of poison should do the trick.

I lived in a house on St Croix that became infested with rats... The neighbor's pool had been trashed during Hurricane Hugo and they refused to spend the $$ to get it fixed... instant rat apartment house. I put out poison and traps... all that did was make me clean up dead rats every day.

Eventually, after much pressure from the Adjutant General, they had to dig the pool up... of course that was all they did and it became a skeeter breading ground... By that time the lease was up and I moved.

All reservations are in place for the honeymoon... airline tickets, resort (all-inclusive No Children), excursion while we are there... While we were looking at different resorts we looked at Sandals Grande Antigua where we vacationed a few years back... the same stay would cost us 2X what we are paying for this trip.... Arghhhh.... That is a lot of money! Will report on trip afterwards....

Wedding plans are coming together... slowly... cake is set, venue reserved, priest is OK... talking to caterer about nosh... MAybe doing an after party (just family) at Blossom Music Center with the Cleveland Orchestra...

Good for you, Barney!

Twenty-five years of happy marriage this very evening for Marc and I. I can't tell you how happy I am am! That, plus the fact that Marc adopted a baby tortoise for us as a gift- how cool is that? We're naming it after our late, lamented friend Clem Sauve- a most missed fellow and hyper-gifted artist.
