where's the 1/48th version!! :vmad

Always thought it interesting that Airfix has 1/72 aircraft but 1/76 vehicles and buildings.

Saw the RAF Rescue launch on that site. Hope that they rerelease it soon.

Cheers

I think when Airfix started that the armor was made in 76 to fit the train scale so that kids could play with it using the buildings for train sets.

Oh, a new Harrier!

Dave, you're thinking of the Airfix HO scale armor (1/87th scale).

Great to see a new Hawker Fury in 1/48th

Regards,

Regards,

Saul, I don't believe Airfix made anything in 1/87th scale. I base that on the fact that when I was younger I bought everything Airfix ever made in small scale and built it. I never saw anything in 1/87 scale. They did make their vehicles and such to match the British HO/OO scale, which scales out to 1/76th scale. 1/87th scale is the USA HO scale.

Personally, I just wish they;d take their modern 1/48 scale vehicles and shrink them down to 1/72! Man what a waste. :bang head :bang head I'd even buy them in 1/76 scale which would make sense for them to do as well.

I stand corrected. I remember the carded Type 97 Chi Ha model labeled as HO scale. My apologies to Dave.

Regards and thanks Mark,

This is the one that has me drooling on the keyboard! :woohoo: :yipee :D

Hope they come up with some more sets like this.

I wonder if this means more new mold British bombers in the future?
