A good collection of WWII photographs here...

I stumbled onto a really good site filled with many good photographs from the WW II era, its ''World War II in Pictures, Photo's You Probably Haven't Seen Before''.
This site lives up to the title, there are a lot of photographs that are new to me and I have barely looked at a fraction of what they have so far! This is not just an aviation site they have plenty of photographs of AFV's too.

I had a chuckle when I checked out the ''Super-Weapons of the Luftwaffe'' section and was looking at the Ho 229 pictures and found an image in there of one of my models I built a few years back, they think its real and not a model. :rotf
If you do go to that site click on the contents and scroll down until you get to the Super-Weapons of the Luftwaffe photographs to see the model.

BTW, There have been a few places that have used images of my models before, should they have asked permission to use them? The Russian sites I wonder about because I don't know what they are saying about my work.

Is this the site you are talking about,Les? : https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjcuJGXhY_LAhVnM5oKHTEjBGkQFggfMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fworldwartwo.filminspector.com%2F&usg=AFQjCNF6ajOiUw2V5uwP9371ziuhintu9g&sig2=nJMjr9WXUhQdo1tEXJE81g

Do you have a link Les? Goes to show that your work and photography skills are right up there. (y) Most likely they found the photos through Google search or something such.

I don't think you can get any more high praise than that Les. :notworthy

He even makes comment about the bicycle. :rotf

Ron,
Yep, that's the one! The Horten marked 'red 10' inside the hangar is my model.

Paul,
Its hard to say where they lifted the image of the model from, that model was built in 2008 or early 2009 and pictures of it were posted at several modeling sites.

Anyway...the photographic site has a lot of interesting pictures to look at, I did look at some photographs of German armor and most of them I could recognize but some types were new to me and maybe were captured enemy equipment pressed into service.

Bob,
It was funny seeing that picture in there that's for sure.

Years ago there was a guy named F Shammas and he built a number of models of modern jet aircraft in Iranian markings and his airfield style pictures of his models were so convincing one of his images was used by ABC news in a report about Iran, the ABC News staff did not realize the aircraft in the image were scale models! That would be fantastic to make the national news! :)

Great photos.

Love the dog photos.

They mention the Russians using dogs as roving anti-tank mines, but they missed the Russian rescue dogs. Hands down the most amazing feat of training I've ever heard. They had teams of four dogs that searched the field for wounded pulling a sled/stretcher and were trained to decern wounded from dead and would load and retrieve the living to base.

The anti tank dogs didn't care which hull they ran under once combat started, so that hideous practice was short lived.
