1/35 scale Tamiya Panther

...so let me get this straight, you move in to AFV's at the same time that I move in to Bf 109's... :facepalm

Looks fantastic, Les, just great skills.

Ian.

Thanks to all for the suggestions on replacing the tow cables. Right now I don't have anything in the house to use so if the repair I made to the kit tow cable fails this model will be without that item...maybe it was lost during combat? :gogo

Ian,
After I finish the Panther its back to WWII airplanes! In fact I will let everyone in the aircraft forum know what's coming up next, as Donald Trump would say 'its gonna be HUGE'. Since I am referred to as a pompous ass by another member here I feel sort of Trump like.

The road wheels have been painted, and the center road wheels were painted metal near the rims to represent the paint being worn off of them.

The tracks should be painted by Thursday, the inner tracks were painted earlier today and the outer portion will be next.

Looking really great!

Want me to send you some stuff for tow cables and track repair cables? The track rpair cables are the thinner ones.

Cheers

Thanks Tankbuilder and Bob!

Tankbuilder,
Thanks so much for the offer on those cable parts, I will go ahead and finish this model without the tow cables since I am so close to the finish line. There are a couple of wing things I want to get started on ASAP.

Not a whole lot left to do on the Panther after the road wheels and tracks were put on...I do intend to sag the tracks more than you see here.

Yep, sag the tracks and add mud splatter directly about the rear of the tracks. Looks good for a first attempt.

The Panther is 99% done, no more in-progress pictures of this model. Just a couple things to be touched up with a paint brush and the flat clear coat are all that's left to do on it. The flat clear coat will have to wait for the Bf 109K-4 to reach the same stage of construction so I can spray both models at the same time.

Here are two snaps of the next armor model I will build, no, its not 1/35th scale but at least with this one I CAN paint the ambush scheme on it and also won't have to worry about the sag of the tracks which I dreaded with the Panther.

It will be a while before I start on this model so the bags will remain sealed until then.

Below is the markings I want to put this model in.

if you add a dap of CA glue on the top of the second road wheel from the front and stick the track to it, you can represent the sag pretty well.

Fantastic work though Les - just goes to show it doesn't matter what the subject is as long as you got the skills! :pp

Thanks guys!

It might be a while before I will get to the KT but it should be a better build than the old Panther was. :)
