Chopped one side of the armour and remodeled the turret and hull
The dragon kit is based on the Last remaining Maus in the world at Kubinka Russia ......was build from two different Tanks .
(only the turret is from the original destroyed one )

Ditto. My thing are airplanes but I am really keen on creating a "destruction" Diorama so I really want to learn as much as possible from you. :popcorn :popcorn

Its my first total wreck i did some burned out tanks.....never went this far :v

This looks really neat! I was under the impression that there were only 2 of the lower hulls built and only one had the turret in your photo. The other just had a big square blockhouse on it so the hull and mechanicals could be tested.

To bunk that I have a modern photo of a full Maus with turret in a Russian museum. Don't know where I got the photo, but here it is as a reference.

You are correct. The first vehicle's hull was matched to the second vehicle's turret for testing at Kubinka.

B) Cool topic Piet.
If you need any extra info I have a book, set on this topic with all the shots of the Euro militare model that got 1 st place a number of years ago. It has some good internal angles as well as detailed build shots of the scratch work done by the modeller.

Ian.

the one with the square 55 ton blockhouse ''maus'' 205/1 got the turret from the blown up ''maus''205/2
And was shipped IN 1946 MAI//APRIL to Russia.

(There where 5 hulls and turrets left unassembled in the factory in 1945)

On its way to Russia,

Hull 205/1 and turret 205/2

Thanks Ian for the offer ,
Is it the Japanese Model Art Publishing ?
I can borrow it from a model builder friend ( :hmmm think its a bit of a simple build)

There are a lot of subtle details between Wanne 1 (surviving) and Wanne 2 (destroyed). Also the kit's Turm 1 needs a bit of correcting as well. Are you aware of them or this is simply a fun build. I will only add the information if you wish it (Since you got several of the books except for the one by Aberdeen Productions or Panzer Tracts, I think you might be interested).

EDIT - will you use any aftermarket?
