I was planning to enter this with an Alpine 1/16 scale figure, (which I still hope to do), but just in case,
I'm starting this guy...

Thanks guys!

Had a bit of a ummm...problem tonight. But I'll fix it. More pics soon!!

Thanks Ron, yes Alpines are great. I own quite a few, this is the first one I have painted.

Anyways, last night I started base coating the face with Reaper acrylic and...blech...looked awful

So I quickly stripped the paint off and gave it another primer coat.

Then tonight I finally broke out the airbrush and sprayed him with a Tamiya flesh+white mix. I like the idea
of base coating an entire figure with flesh color. That way the face and hands have a nice smooth finish and the
rest of the figure has a warm shade for future colors.

I think the color looks a bit off because of the grey primer, I need to try a white primer next time. I think the last figure I
painted suffered from the grey primer showing through on the face and making him look kinda dead.

Thanks for looking,
Tom

TOTAL AND COMPLETE, UTTER FAILURE...

After attempting to paint this guy in acrylics, I have tried to strip the paint just one too many times...and destroyed
the figure. But my wife (gotta love her) said, "Well, just get another one."

So, another one is on the way, I am determined to finish this guy...if you want to see the ugly evidence...I have pics...

P.S.
Going back to my tried and true Humbrols and oils...with a bit of acryl thrown in...

That's the spirit,Tom! (y)
Lets Humbrol do the magic!

What did you use to strip the paint that caused the troubles?

Greetings,Ron.

Thanks guys, it was a learning experience, learned what not to do.

Ron, I scrubbed it with lacquer thinner and a Q-Tip. Not sure if the thinner started to soften the resin or I scrubbed off
some of the fine detail. I got frustrated and threw it in the trash, but pulled it out later. It could probably be used as
a background figure, with his back turned.

As soon as the new arrives I'll get back to it. I really love this figure.
