A little more progress made today.

Finally a little time to get some construction on the go.

Thanks for the suggestions.Got some 26 gauge beading wire (to thick) & some 30 gauge (to thin). Just my luck! Searched down in the deepest darkest depths of my bits & pieces & finally found brass rod that I use for antennas.

My first attempt at Fruil Tracks & I have learnt the hard way not to leave to much extra when joining the links. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can use as an alternative? I'm going to look in craft shops.

Finally arrived... Lot of kit when all I need is the turret. At least I have a hull to experiment on now !

I'm finding things that have been in storage for over four years. The stumps were just in a box without any markings.

This is my first effort with metal tracks. My intention is to paint these ones. I did see some You Tube vids of fluids but can't remember the product name at the moment. But I will have a look at the product you mention. Is there any reason why one process would be better than the other or is it...

The first run of tracks is now complete. I think they have been a wise investment.

I'm hoping to be permitted to join this build with a training scene based on a photo that I have of a Tiger. Will post the photo & kit etc when a few items arrive in a couple of days time.

Thanks for the advice... It all helps. The tracks that came with the kit were going to be a pain. Two attachment points to the sprue for every individual link. Was becoming a pain to clean each one up.

Fruil Tracks have arrived... Two down only 228 to go ! Not real happy with the poor fit of the upper & lower hulls of the vehicle. It is going to need some well placed equipment, bedrolls & tarps to hide the big gaps.

Piet thanks for that tip. I shall definitely be trying that one out. I did get onto the BNA website & purchased a set of Fruil tracks. I've never used them before so I'm looking forward to trying them out. Due to the cost I won't be getting them for every model. Thanks to all who have offered...

I've never tried the Fruil Tracks. Is there a decent online hobby store that supplies these tracks If anyone knows of an Australian store that would be even better.

Progress has slowed while I complete possibly my least favourite part of building... Cleaning up a squillion individual track links. Well maybe not a squillion but it seems like it. Surely modellers should be permitted to train small primates to complete these tasks. I'd be prepared to pay...

There is a vague recollection of the need to heat the photo etch & then let it cool before shaping etc. But not sure if this is correct.
