    Crown Achievement in 1/144

I was able to get going this evening, on the Crown T-bolt. Some parts were glued together, and it looked ok from above: There were huge gaps, though, and it came with that odd depression on the lower fuselage: So I started filling with styrene and blister-pack cuttings, and put in a brass...

    Crown Achievement in 1/144

Back in the day, I'm sure Crown standardized a 3-blade prop for all their kits. There was likely a few modellers who felt suckered by the box art and included scheme profile, compared to what was in the box. Luckily, I was gifted some proper Platz decals and repairable 4-blade from their P-47 kit.

    Crown Achievement in 1/144

Yep, They suggest orange tips on the included P-47 '3-blade prop'?!?!!. At least with the included decals, I won't be free-handing the national insignia. Just everything else.

    Crown Achievement in 1/144

My philosophy; Have many on the bench to prevent disinterest in one. The Crown P-47 Thunderbolt kit. A time stamp: Kit parts: Color scheme = NMF Instructions are in the box - literally: I figure I can delay some other builds slightly and rip through this pretty quick. Then again...

"We Want Our Mummy" Pt1 Moe (Update Mar 03)

"Where's My Mummy" Pt1 Moe I really enjoyed watching these guys slapstick it out in our town theater on Saturday Matinee's, circa 1960's. This is going to be a cool build to watch :thumbsup :bgrin :popcorn

Cool Air Flyer - 1/48 Scale

It was that creepy looking ribbon that lured me in. Who can resist. Model Cellar 1/48th WWI German pilot. Going to build him to stand in front of Gavia's Pfalz E.I, which also has to be built. I don't usually use figures, and this will be my first purposeful effort. We'll just have to see how...

Japanese float plane I started this why?

Jap float plane I started this why? That was actually over Kiska.. S/L Boomer of 111 Sqn., made the kill during that squadrons support in the Aleutian Campaign. The US was able to salvage that aircraft for study. Koga, the Japanese pilot had been killed in the initial action. S/L Boomer earned...

    Not quite good enough. Dr.1

I took a quick photo of an unfinished D.III. You can see that without a fuel tank, there would be a void in there. Guns would help, but, you would still notice an unnatural space if your looking at it. To me, it's just a flaw in Eduards otherwise excellent Albatros series. Not trying to...

    Not quite good enough. Dr.1

Don't forget that Eduard Albatros do not include a representation for the fuel tank located behind the engine. The guns hide that fact well enough, unless your building an unarmed version. Not scratching up a simple tank on my D.II bothered me enough that I hanger-queened it. Your doing a fine...

    1/72 Italeri Sunderland III

Looks great, Old Dog. Did you paint with references? I just wonder about that extra dark grey dot at the rear of the port wing. I've never seen that in a pattern before. Its way to nice a model to worry about rushing it :thumbsup
