After the debacle with the 1/48 Hind ((now sitting high up on the shelf, so that I can't look at it...!), started afresh with the Zvezda 1/48 IL2M3.
A nice kit, though the ehgine placement is a nightmare, complete with a Quintex cockpit and the KV models stencils.
Thought I would post some work in progress pictures.

Looks like you are about ready to add the clear coat and decals which means you are past the build work. Looking good!
Waiting to get some matt red paint so I can spray on the stars, we have no model shops where I live, the closest is over 500Km's away in Melbourne, so I have to wait LOL.
I'm thinking about doing a series of Soviet aircraft from WW2, getting them here is a problem though, nigh on imposiible to get Soviet/Russian kits, the Trumpeter kits are gone as soon as they land, and Zvezda aren't alllowed to be imported by shops (!), so I have to go and get them outside of the country and the shipping costs are eye watering, which is a pity as Zvezda has been producing some really nice stuff.

Sadly that's the case in a lot of places now. We had a super hobby shop about an hour away and over the years they have just kept reducing stock and size. Now it's nothing more than one of those magic card shops with some RC parts.

I'm gonna ask, why Zvenda can't be imported to Ausie?

I won't get into politics, not on this forum.
Needless to say our so called grubament is owned and controlled by globalists and all forms of trade and postage have been banned from Russia, so you can't even send a letter to friends etc. So none of the shops can stock Russian made stuff like Zvezda or Quinta for example.
The government is sticking it's tentacles into everything here, from digital ID to what they view as "hate speech", gun owners here get an awful time of it. If someone didn't like your model collection, you would loose it under the "hate speech" laws and get fined, this has impacted on just about everything and one of the reasons that "living history" for instance is dead here.

Thanks for not getting into politics :rotf
Yeah there's plenty of places to discuss politics, sadly we've lost some good modelers who we thought were friends over politics and we never even discussed it here.

Zvezda Russian based, got it.

I may not agree with people's politics, but I'm here to look and show models and folks can have a laugh at my mediochre attempts LOL.
Will have to wait till my son goes back to Turkey and brings back some more kits from there...
