After the debacle with the 1/48 Hind ((now sitting high up on the shelf, so that I can't look at it...!), started afresh with the Zvezda 1/48 IL2M3.
A nice kit, though the ehgine placement is a nightmare, complete with a Quintex cockpit and the KV models stencils.
Thought I would post some work in progress pictures.

Looks like you are about ready to add the clear coat and decals which means you are past the build work. Looking good!
Waiting to get some matt red paint so I can spray on the stars, we have no model shops where I live, the closest is over 500Km's away in Melbourne, so I have to wait LOL.
I'm thinking about doing a series of Soviet aircraft from WW2, getting them here is a problem though, nigh on imposiible to get Soviet/Russian kits, the Trumpeter kits are gone as soon as they land, and Zvezda aren't alllowed to be imported by shops (!), so I have to go and get them outside of the country and the shipping costs are eye watering, which is a pity as Zvezda has been producing some really nice stuff.

Sadly that's the case in a lot of places now. We had a super hobby shop about an hour away and over the years they have just kept reducing stock and size. Now it's nothing more than one of those magic card shops with some RC parts.

I'm gonna ask, why Zvenda can't be imported to Ausie?
