G scale locomotive.

Re-working the Bachmann cab shell. I plan on adding sliding windows, closing in the back some, lining the roof interior with wood. I started by cutting in the catwalk access doors. They didn't turn out to bad for using a cut off wheel on the flex shaft and sawing the corners with a hacksaw blade.

While I was at it I went ahead and removed the molded on gutters, rivets and the raised lip around the edge of the roof. I really should move the fresh air hatch forward as well.

The major chop and cut on the cab is done. Now to re-build it. I filled the old roof hatch and cut a new hole for the new one. Got the sliding windows made ( their just taped in for the pics). The big work was adding to each side of the back of the cab and enlarging those windows...glad that's over!
As a break from the fabrication I treated myself to getting the bell done. It's a 1:20.3 cast metal kit from Ozark Miniatures.
