Thanks for the Bday wish. As the years go by the aches multiply and feeling older intenseifies.What the hell happened? The Tony cockpit is almost done, just needs a little touching up. Photo etch was used for the seatbelts and rudder pedals. The Zero cockpit is done for what can be seen of it...

Yesterday, Birthday Boy, got some time off for goog behavior, so he painted the base cockpit colors. This morning I did some of the detail painting with more to come later. Both canopies are closed and a lot of detail will not be seen. If the Zero didn't get some sort of cockpit, the wheels...

These are the colors I came up with for the cockpits. RLM79 Sandy Brown for the Tony and MM Forrest green for the Mitsubishi Zero. The small bottles came from the Dollar 50 Store. Gary S.

Work on the Zero has progressed quit a bit. The wings and fuselage are assembled but not attached together. Along with the cockpit, they are just dry fitted together. So far the fit is pretty good for 1962 molds. Also the tail hook was just a small protrusion sticking out the bottom. I made one...

The Zero kit only came with a seated pilot that looked too much like a gringo. I had some left over parts from the A-36 kit which kinda works. It's 0% accurate and will be a closed cockpit which hides a lot of detail, but at least it' better than nothing. Gary S.

I decided to just do these two kits and to combine them into one thread to maeby simplify space. The Zero is a Mitsubishi built airframe and in not sure as to the color difference of the Nakajima ones as far as the cockpit and camo. On the Tony, the instructions say to paint it overall IJA Lt...

Getting an eBay account is too much of a hassle for just one kit. For now, I think I'll just hang on to it. According to the article, the early versions were a dark blue/gray or gunship gray. Gary S.
