Finished the left side of the fuselage and got half way thru the right side. By then it was again time to have coffee on the back porch. Gary S.

    A6M5 Zero and Ki-61 Tony

I mixed up some craft paint this early this morning and started painting the green blotches on the Tony. I usedthe kit instruction as a guide that matched photos of the real Tony. After a while my eyes started to cross and it was time to have coffee on the back porch and watch the sunrise. Gary S.

    A6M5 Zero and Ki-61 Tony

Managed to remove that pesky decal glue by using Micro Sst and a cuetip and scrubbing it off. One less thing to worry about.Gary S.

    A6M5 Zero and Ki-61 Tony

Decided to try and use Terrors yellow to fill in the gaps. Turns out it's a good match. I did manage to flub up one of the gear doors. Need to fix that. The gear wells need a little touching up too. Gary S.

    A6M5 Zero and Ki-61 Tony

The engine and prop are installed on the Zero. On the Tony, decals were not provided for the yellow wing markings so I'm piecing together strips from leftover one from the Nate kit. Just to make it harder, the gear doors don't fit the wheel wells.Don't know why on a closed only canopy model...

    A6M5 Zero and Ki-61 Tony

The Revell kit decals were applied with no problem. The Hasagawa decals for the Tony is a different story. Had to wait a long time for them to unstuck from the paper and the red disco for the wings broke before separating. Luckily I have others in my stash. Also added the exhaust to the Zero...

    A6M5 Zero and Ki-61 Tony

The painted areas on the Tony had their masked removed and on the Zero the green paint received some chipping. Then both were given a coat of Future as. prep for decaling after which the Tony will get the green blotches. Gary S.
