Fokker VIII 1/48th scale by Eduard.

Yea, he's a big guy and had to lose a lot of weight too. Decided to attach the struts before painting in order to get a good glue bond. Same for the tail. I'm planning to paint it all white before applying the decals. Gary S.

The wing, axel wing and fuselage with pilot undoing the seat belts are assembled. With the German markings that I'll be using, this model will be an E V, not a D VIII. Gary S.

Charlie Still Don't Surf! AH-1G References

Mabey she should have kept her teeth. Might have had a better outcome? BTW, I have some flight time in "Mississippi Queen". Her crew chief was James Hoag, her pilot was W/O Randy Jones, and I painted the name. Gary S.

Charlie Still Don't Surf! AH-1G References

I have no idea. 567 was a replacement ship when 827 was shot down. 567 was a rebuild after being shot down from the 17th air cav. Gary S.

Charlie Still Don't Surf! AH-1G References

Our Cobra did not have the rotor cap. Never saw one taillights were the bumps on the tail boom. No nose light it was underneath. That's a fin not a rudder and it was concave. Tail rotor position depends on time frame, ours were modified at Vung Tao. Don't forget the blue tint canopy. Gary S.

Fokker VIII 1/48th scale by Eduard.

May not be a movie star, but a lot prettier. Finally got the pilot to sort of fit after losing a lot of weight, new arms and reposition of legs. I think it would have been better to have the photo etch cockpit as separate pieces. The wood is placed onto the inside walls. Gary S.

Fokker VIII 1/48th scale by Eduard.

Sometimes I think that some companies over due photo etch products and this kit is no exception. It can be a real PIA. Started painting the wood components. Still needs clear yellow. Pieces of scrap lozenge decal was used on the interior. I'm so unimpressed with this cockpit, that I might this...

If one is good, then two is better, I guess. I love the colors on that MS 230. Gary S.

Fokker VIII 1/48th scale by Eduard.

Started on the cockpit and fixed missing plastic on st. fuselage half. Pics of Kermit Weeks D VIII and him and me 30 years ago. That day our modeling club, Spacecoast Modelers, was on a field trip. Kermit flew the D VIII and we got to see, hear and smell this aircraft in flight. It sounded like...

Just quickly looking at the parts, they might be plastic. Anyway I build what I have on hand. Gary S.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out and possibly add a layer of plastic or just fabricate one's out of metal using brad nails. Gary S.
