Panzer IV D in 1/48th scale by Bandai

I decided to stick with the German armor theme and build this Panzer IV D in desert marking. The interior detail is a little sparse as compared to some of the other Bandai kits. With that in mind, I'm not going to go crazy detailing. Gary S.

Most of the parts at the rear are glued on. There was a smoke canister attached to a muffler from something that I can't remember that was also glued on. The gun is also almost all assembled.
There are a lot of more parts to attach before any painting can be done. I'm also thinking about making the the bulkheads for in front of the engine compartment and behind the driver compartment. Possibly a floor under the turret floor. If anyone has pics or drawings, it would be greatly appreciated. Gary S.

I wanted the turret to have the rear bussell storage box but it wasn't included in the kit. I have an inbuilt Panzer IV H kit that does and I used it to make a mold out of silicon caulk plus using Vaseline as a mold release. After setting up for a few days, this morning I used JB Weld to make the part. It has two small air bubbles that need filling and some sanding after a primer coat. While the epoxy was hardening, a few more parts were attached. Gary S.

Self casting. Before it is too hard, sand and file to finish so you can add the small things like hinges (thin rod or stretched sprue) and plastic strip for the padlock hasps! Love it! Being frugal reminds me of when I had so much time and no money... Wait, I've returned to that time!

Thanks, me too. The box has molded on hinges already and it's already installed. Even though I'm on Medicare A&B, there's a lot of bills forth conning. Looks like me and the Pope have something in common only I'm going to lose my rt. upper lobe in the procees. Like him, I never smoked. Gary S.

A lady at work had lung cancer and they did all the stuff to her. She is cancer free now 2 years.
It's all the crap in the air anymore. Doesn't matter so much if you smoked or not, you could have walked through a cloud of some crap at some time and now you find out.

My first surgery is 10-27-26 for a inguinal hernia. The lung surgery hasn't been scheduled yet. On this Friday, is the follow up appointment for the lung biopsy. So that's when we find out how bad it is. Plus, I'm on hormonal treatment with radiation treatment that will start late Nov. or early Dec. after the hormones take affect for prostate cancer. Which is when after MRI/CT scanning they found the spot in the rt. lung. So I have three things at one time. Hopefully the VA will grant a disability due to Agent Orange exposure for the prostate and lung CA which will help with the mounting bills yet to come.
Meanwhile, on the model, the road wheels are on and an engine fire wall was made. I think that about all concerning the interior. Gary S.

Also wish you the best Gary. I have been having some discomfort or very mild pain in my right back to side in the kidney area. Did some initial tests and nothing wrong. So going in for a CAT scan Thursday morning. It mainly kicks up overnight and I feel it in the morning. So we shall see what all is going on with it. Have had minor issues there for quite a while but nothing notable. This bit is fairly new and only started like this about 3 weeks ago.
We are all getting older and stuff just keeps getting in the way. Keep us in the loop.

Just came back from the Urology's office. They said, and I'm completely dumbfounded by this, that my lung biopsy results were negative. My appointment to see the Pulmonologist is this Friday and we'll see what he says. So maybe some good news for a change.

We'll find out today what the Pulmonologist says. I think he still might want to do surgery because of the type or shape of the tumor causing problems in the future.
Meanwhile, the lowes hull was spray painted brown and then I tried just spray painting the road wheels black. A little over spray got onto the brown and that's ok. It will be given a light coat of the camo color later. For the photo, it was placed on it's future base in front of the DAK action figure from 21st Toys that was made into a bookend. On the other book end, is another figure this time in the East front winter theme and the Hummel is in front of it.
BTW With the hormone treatment that I'm on for the next two years, my boobs are almost getting big enough to play with except that they are hairy. Need to go shopping for a size 42 AA cup training bra. Gary S.

Glad to hear that the lung thing is not C. Hormones can do all kinds of odd things to the body. Just so your hot flashes and mood swings don't interfere with your fun stuff.
Hairy boobs, ewww. My legs over time have become not hairy, don't know why, but after the rad treatments on the left thigh, what little was left on the back of that thigh went away as well.
As to my kidney thing, found out that both are OK as well as all the other parts in there. The problem is coming from the lines going to the bladder not draining properly and fluid backing up into the kidneys. Left side as well, but not noticeable yet. Probably explains another small on/off discomfort I have had further south below the belly button for years that they never could find a cause. So now get to go to a urologist and probably a houp-deju up the........ for a look see.

Great news!! The Pulmonologist said there's no lung cancer found in the tumor and no need for surgery. Still going to have surgery on the 27th for the hernia though which will be a lot easier to recover from than lung surgery, I hope. Now I just have to deal with taking these hormones and starting radiation therapy probably early Dec. The Urologist feels pretty good about the outcome. Thanks to all for your support. Gary S.
