So you know what the G will wear, the D??? could go either way.

Love the Thud. Gotta remember those things had internal bombbay also and their foot print on the ground was about the same as a B17. Wingspan not the same but with that much thrust who needs wings!

So how is the " dont spend anymore money" plan going Paddy

My poor old Badger Krome has become obsolete over here as you can no longer get spare parts From badger in the UK. ( thanks Badger) so i splashed out on a European model with a decent spares back up ( I hope)
This has 3 bowls and needle and jet for .25mm and .4mm so should keep me going for a while.
That looks a lot like the one I bought a month or so ago. I now have 3 of the Harder & Steenbeck airbrushes and like them a lot. They just work better than my old Badgers ever did.

One thing I learned quite a while ago is to get a MAC valve for air control "at the airbrush". Here is what I finally bought as they are much better than the Paasche valves I used for years.

My airbushes have the 'mac control' as a standard feature, under the nose. I love them.

The decal sheet is for the D/F which sheet do you have for the G?
Okay that just sucks. Why didnt you look over my shoulder when I ordered the wrong decals and let me know??? Sigh, I got new glasses this year and they still dont seem to work :(
Now to look for G markings and hope google has smartened up and shows just G markings and not D, F, F-101, A7, F-14 etc markings.
Love the photos though, thank you.

You could backdate the G to an F. Both are two seaters!

I found these G markings. I hope they are good even though a Russian company. Sourced on ebay from Serbia.
James, if you want to save money I am sure this is within your skillset.
Backdating the G to F mainly means removing the ECM blisters...

There is a resin set out there but...C'mon!

$12 from Sprue Brothers.

Key Conversion Steps
    • Fuselage Corrections: The F-105G kit features molded ECM antenna blisters and fairings unique to the Wild Weasel variant. To backdate it to an F-105F, you must shave and sand smooth the fuselage sides, or use specialized aftermarket replacement parts like the GT Resin F-105F Conversion Set which provides smooth side panels.
    • Antenna and Sensor Deletions: Remove specific 'G'-specific RWR (Radar Warning Receiver) bumps and blade antennae scattered on the vertical tail and spine that did not exist on the standard F-105F configuration.
    • Cockpit Layout: The F-105G rear cockpit layout features specialized controls for the Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) managing AGM-45 Shrike and AGM-78 Standard ARM missiles. You will need to modify the instrument panels back to a standard dual-stick/bombing configuration using reference photos or aftermarket F-105F interior sets.
    • Weapons and Pylons: Ditch the specialized LAU-88/aliased Weasel missile pylon setups and AGM anti-radiation missiles if you are building a standard conventional-bomb-loading 'F' model, reverting instead to standard MER/TER bomb racks or typical Vietnam-era tactical loadouts.

Cockpit you say?

Always interesting to see the cockpit lay out. Take the LHS panel on the F rear.
20 and 21 are interchangeable.
20, Pilot relief container.
21 Special Weapon breaker panel.

Seems to me if you're flippin' them Special Weapons on you're gonna need that relief container!

Thanks Saul. I'll go with the G as I have all the Reskit bits and pieces. You do have me thinking about another kit in the future though to build as an F.
