Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

What a crazy world we now live in......
My Matra Simca F1 car arrived from Japan today from Model Factory Hiro.

It cost me £390 ($527 USD) delivered from the factory. Usually these models are sold out pretty quick but for some reason this one was still in stock.

I could have bought it here: Click image

£1038 + £20 delivery + 20% tax total. £1269.00 ($1750 USD)

@paddy Holy Moly Batman!
My HPH 1/48th B36 kit was about $600 US when it finally shipped from HPH in the Czech Republic several years ago, and a big part of that was the shipping. Later on I saw that Sprue Bros had one for sale at $1400. Of course HPH is now defunct and that limited edition kit of 100 is probably worth it if you really want one.

This popped in today.

Well, no photos and not really model related but my SSD on my old PC decided to freeze. Being ten years old (the PC, not the SSD) I couldn't upgrade to Windows 11 and the price of the replacement SSD made me decide to double it and buy a complete new PC. Of course, the monitor is now incompatible (VGA instead of HDMI) so, while I do have an adapter, which I am using now, it is like having a sports car with a dirty windshield.

My new monitor arrives on Tuesday. I need to recover files from my SSD before I mail it to the manufacturer as it is still under warranty. Oh well, wife and son are thoroughly enjoying Europe, they went to Slovakia and got to see this in person. I had taken photos of this place a long time ago.

I had a video card blow up in '24. Didn't trust the Motherboard to have survived, so I replaced the motherboard, processor, processor cooler, and video card. I found a motherboard that would still work with the 32 gig DDR4 memory I had, so I was able to do a pretty decent upgrade.

Slovakia ? She is lucky those tanks are only on plinths :)
Both tanks were reworked in Czechoslovakia (before the break up) and show the post-war modifications. The Begleitwagen (PzKpfw.IV) is a perfect example to study for a Syrian model. It was my intent but then I came across a museum in Long Island, NY, (since moved to Virginia) that had one on display. Can't afford any of them anyway.
