All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

Pouring rain outside means time to get some flooring done ;)

Wow, I'm overwhelmed at the creativity here today! Man, that is a brilliant idea Mats! Jeeves, what a sensational job you did on that floor! It looks rugged and well abused.

Wow, I'm feeling inadequate here.....

No need Mark...there's nothing I've done that you couldn't do. The piece is set in WWI and I'm figuring the tavern is at least a hundred years old at that point so I decided a rough cut lumber theme for the floor...and no strict building codes so I didn't go too crazy on measuring. Just a couple dollars for this package of craft sticks....I soaked them in Mig's wood aging solution and cut them roughly into thirds. Offset them and filled in with smaller lengths where needed....easy peasy.

Today's goal...to find the bench again after a short ride on the trainer. The desk has gotten covered by all sorts of randomness over the past few months.

Got a workspace cleared out on the bench. Off to bed now. Maybe I'll get a chance to dabble with something tomorrow morning (only working 1/2 shift tonight).

Finishing off an Airfix Spitfire MK.Vb.

First off gotta pass on a big thank you to Mr.J Eaton for taking the time to do up a set of camo Masks, they sure are helpful and at least now there will be some consistency in my Spitfire camouflage schemes on any future Spitfire builds (y) . Apparently they are designed for the Tamiya kit, while for the most part they fit reasonably well, no matter how I tried I could not get the cowling mask to work so I ended out fudging one out of the 3 view which worked well enough.

I parked this one up over color and painting issues, after a bit of reading around I settled on giving Hataka a try out for British colors, really not being to happy with Tamiya's version of Ocean Grey. I left the bottom in Tamiya's medium sea grey as I had already painted it on before it was boxed up.

Not bad for a first go around using this method but a few niggles so I decided on a D Day scheme from a set Of ExtraDecals to help hide the ill's. my way of doing the stripes is to mask and airbrush the basic black and grey, and then go over that with thinned colors to create the brushed on look without ending up with a thick gooey mess, work for me anyway......for the most part the Hataka paints stuck pretty good, but there is always that one spot....

A little touch up and good to go....

According to the instructions this airframe was 3 years old by the time it was flying over the beaches, but at this point these planes were well cared for so it's likely that the exhaust staining is a bit over done as is the weathering.

Always a nice feeling with a clean bench (as long as it lasts...) :)

Killing some time whilst I wait for the half-track to arrive, because you can't have too many projects going at once..... :smack

Hoping a simple "quick-build" will help get some mojo back. I hope to be able to get mostly done with it in the next week. Built, painted, ready for decals by Monday night would be ideal.

Now that's a challenge to finish. Not so much the build but the rigging.

Excellent price.

Trying to get this piece ready for AMPS Nationals "Snow" theme in time for next weekend's show...just in progress....

Bad ass Jeeves! :drinks

Hoping to get a little time at the bench today as it's a planned rest day for me (no cycling or hiking scheduled). Hope to maybe get the Vampire in paint, and make a bit more progress on the DTM. I'd like to get some clear down and buffed out so it's ready for the decals when they arrive.
