For me it's not so much the doldrums...I want to get to bench...but I'm definitely finding less time to be there. My problem is I've got so much other stuff that I need to attend to when the weather is nice. Plus I want to try to get outdoors more this summer. Hoping to pick up a 4x4 for some camping excursions. B)

Yeah, I do landscaping so my work is very physical and I also mountain bike as much as I can so not much energy left for the bench.

One of the few perks of being a teacher...over the years I've learned to budget well for the two full months with no paychecks...but part of that is relatively little model buying. Between gardening and biking around the battlefield each morning which I plan to do this summer now that the kids are older, I hope to get an hour or two a day in...

Sometimes I get the same feeling.
Planted flowers today in between rain showers.
Tomorrow is to be nicer, (no rain) means workking on my ponds.
We have three seasons in Iowa, winter, planting time, construction.
Lots of time indoors during the winter.
Rainy days are for modeling.
Friday and Saturday will be spent modelling if the weather man is correct.

Summer is when my modeling turns to the dark side (outdoor trains) and between that and outdoor chores (5 acres to care for and a house that always seems to need something done to it) I don't spend much time at the plastic modeling bench unless the weather gets really hot or really wet. I just consider it a break in the action and am ready to dig in again when the nice weather goes away.

I can see a correlation with that .
Actually I would think that the doldrums would occur in the winter where the door is froze shut and there is little daylight available . It depresses a good many people

Nah, that is when I get most of my modeling done - dark at 4:00pm cold as heck, not going outside - perfect for modeling!

HAHAHA ....Doesn't bother me . My ancestors discovered artificial light many years ago. It's a good time to model .
Summer is generally when I have the least time to model. Would love to but that is my busiest field season!
Planning on an abundance survey of porbeagle sharks along the entire east coast of Canada this June, will probably be at sea most of the month. Then we have a couple projects to satellite tag mako sharks and porbeagles, then work with the blue sharks in August and hopefully some more work with white sharks later in the summer!
That should bring me right up until around October but I'll try and sneak a day or two in when I can!
