Adeptus Mechanicus Ironstrider/Sydonian dragoon

Ok so I am ...... I was mixed up in my thinking .... I could ell James one ...... I was thinking He was across the Pond ...... :eek:ldguy ...... Yes Dave I'm a Games-Workshop stockiest ...... :geek Cat's out of the Bad Now ...... :bat

I could even make the price a bit better ..... since I'm 10% off MSRP ..... I'm just not supposed to sell anything GWS on-line ..... part of the agreement ..... So this would be a gray area .... and He should have a LHS in Canada that would be easier to buy from ....... :eek:ldguy

Thats what I thought I might do, but its the size that is a show stopper for me. Still watching with interest though.
James

I'm of the opinion that 49 dollars for a kit that small is just a bit too expensive, but that's just my opinion. I stopped at a local game shop a couple weeks ago that sells the WH40k stuff, and a kit with just a single figure in it, was like 20 dollars, and a 5 figure kit was 65, which is insane.

They still make awesome kits, and if I can find a deal on one, I'll definitely buy one if I've got the money.

I know that Games workshop is high ..... but I've seen the other stuff that is not molded as good ..... When you use slide mold technology .... less mold/seam lines .... I don't find any pin marks .... just like a Trumpeter Kit ..... I'm building my first ..... they are also high .... I don't know the reason a figure is as high as it is ...... All I know is it is a Game ..... Some have said if all the Gray Knights pieces were cheap everyone would have Gray Knights as their army, the cost of different pieces is to balance the spectrum so as no one gains an advantage because the pieces are cheaper for this more powerful Army .... In other words the weaker armies will take more pieces .... to equal the same power so in building that army it would cost the same over the long run .... because more soldiers are required for the same killing points ...... I hope I explained this well .... :eek:ldguy

Thanks. Bit too small for me though. It looked bigger in the pics:)
James

They always do ..... :rotf ...... the photos are taken in micro focus ..... One thing this does is show me the things these old eyes can't see .... sorry to get you all excited ..... Still She'll look real good when I'm done I hope ..... :eek:ldguy

I added all the Mephiston Red areas I think ..... now the clean-up !!! .... that Red goes everywhere .... when your tired .................. I hope to get this better looking ..... High-Lights are next .... That and the Black biker seat .......... :eek:ldguy

I have a question? Under the seat. Is that a person imbedded in the machinery?

:eek:hmy:

Yea, I guess when you lay it out like that, strength of one army vs. another, when it comes to cost, it makes sense in that aspect, but since I dont approach it from that angle, it just seems expensive, but I do understand there's a method to the madness/expense.

Adam the value and expense is only really worth while IF you play the game. Then the cost is value rated beause you get more enjoyment by using them in the game. I gave up on the game part several years ago as GW keeps messing up the rules. As just model kits they are way overpriced unless you just really get into this stuff.

While a lot of the GW kits are neat and interesting I myself would rather spend $140 on a nice HK, Zoki Mura, or Wingnuts Wings kit. (or one of the newer Tamiya kits) That's my 2 cents on the GW pricing.

Gerry is doing a wonderful job building up this new kit and making it shine. (y)

So's the rule book ..... This is my crack ..... let's face it all hobbies are expensive .... I'd have to say that model building ..... is the least costly ..... If you really want a model your gonna buy it .... This one was gratus because my GW account manager threw it in the box ..... Now Friday I'm getting another goodie ..... A surprise .... it is ..... :eek:ldguy

Not much to report ..... I didn't want to stay up late so I really messed the thing up .....

Dry Brushed Ushabti bone .................... :eek:ldguy

I think it looks better this way ........ :hmmm what do you think ??? ..... :eek:ldguy

Looking quite nice there Gerry! While I pretty much don't care for the GW paints due to the containers anymore, they do have a decent painting system that works quite well for painting their minis.

Noticed some paint chipping in the red paint as well. (y) :D

Thanks Paul I think the dry brush will look good .... the red paint chipping will be coming along ..... the camera is seeing things ..... Nulin oil under the red is doing this ..... some chipping I'm going to leave or try to intensify .... not sure I've been rushed for time lately ..... found a good reference to this model on DakkaDakka
