Afternoon all. 'Not after any of that back-slapping nonesense, but it's my birthday today and I've decided that in spite of the size of my stash, I really need another kit :gogo

So here's the thing, I fancy a post war jet, not too big (small 1:32 or medium sized 1:48) but with potential for a really colourful/interesting model at the end of the process; Give me your thoughts on my list and feel free to suggest any others. So, in contention at the moment:

Eduard MiG 21 any version but the SMT, the Bis and the new 'R' look very nice.

Kinetic Kfir C2/C7

RoG 1:32 Hawk T1A

(Another) Hasegawa Starfighter - an 'S' would be very nice !!

...and someone has just released a Mirage F1 - I have the Italeri re-box of the old Esci kit but this new one looks fantstic, cannot recall who's released it, Kittyhawk maybe ??

Ok you lot, help me out here - and PLEASE no-one say "Just go back the way you came-in....", please !! :smack

Happy Birthday Ian!!! :drinks :drinks :drinks this would be my choice: 1. Mig-21SMTor R (Great kit if You like PE work) 2. Kfir (very nice kit but I think more sanding, have one). 3. Revell 1/32 Hawk T1A (Great kit but very easy to build  ).

Edit: Yes F1 by Kitty Hawk

All the best!

I think my first choice would be the Kfir. Hawk would come a close second.

And have a very happy birthday while you're at it! :drinks :drinks :drinks

One I know you will make a beauty of will be the Airfix 1/48 Lightning Colorfull and a great looker all at the same time especialy the NMF as it was one of the few NMF's the british had that was not painted silver. :D

I second the lightning, or an Eduard Mig-21MF with the Shyheart Czech splinter decals :good:
Happy birthday as well, hope it was a good one :drinks

Absolutely right on all counts, Dave. I've had one tucked away for a wee while and only recently brought it back out to check what I'd 'added to the ingredients' if you know what I mean. All it needs is a seat and an Eduard Zoom set and I'm good to go. There's a white-metal undercarriage, intake ring and intake bullet all by Aeroclub in the box aswell as a set of their decals (bet not-too-many folks realised Aeroclub does separate decal sheets).

The other thing I need is a truck load of chutzpah and a bigger truckload of Alcald Polished Aluminium !!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond, I really do appreciate it.

What you guys have done is basically reinforce my own preferrence - I really do want to do the Eduard MiG, and I now for £30+ I can get an 'all you'll ever need in one box' project that I can turn in to a real head-turner without spending-out on all those extras we all seem to get sucked-in-to buying these days..... And yes I am VERY guilty of this, but don't mention it to the 'Frau'
