Shelf Queens - Completed

Pup,
Me too.
If you watch youtube on the C-97 prototype, they show them backing a truck and a jeep into it.
I must be the bubble fuselage that makes that possible.
The wings and tail area are from the Academy B-29, it still has the tube and rear area in the kit.

That's one of the first things I noticed looking in the box.

I remember well walking thru a C-97 at the old Florence Air and Space Museum and in awe how big it was. That aircraft is parked off the side of the runway at Charleston AFB now, no one can get to it now.

Wow that C-118 is impressive! Looking great so far! I also thought that the C-97 would be bigger; I built the civilian version B-377, so I could compare them. I also have a C-97 in the stash; once I get over what the B-377 put me though, I'll give that one a shot.

Keep them coming Frank!

An update on the B-36.
Jet engines being added.

Rock and roll Frank! That looks magnificent and it's great seeing this coming along. I came to a screeching halt on my space shuttle due to the missing forward bracket, but I'll be looking to move ahead on that soon.

Keep it coming Frank!

Stones. Big granite ones! Not an easy model to assemble, I hear. :drinks :bang head :drinks :facepalm

I notice a trend in your aged shelf queens. They are all huge!!

Whatever happened to the 1/72 DC-130A Hercules?

Thank you everyone.
Back from Florida. Weather was beautiful.
Bench time tomorrow.
Chris,
The DC-130 is being worked on.
I will take some pictures tomorrow.
Frank

Rhino,
Just for you.
I moved the outboard engines out to make them all the same length,

The B-36 will be ready for the Madison Regional Show.
I am not going to glue the wings on until after show season.
It will be easier to transport.
I still have to dull the shine, add the guns in the tail, front gear doors, glue the canopy on.
As you can see, I am going to need a bigger blue base for photos.

Not an easy airplane model to build well. My hat is off to your skills, devotion, and tenacity!
Must have gotten some snow Up North?
When the temperatures moderate a little, do you attach the string?
:rotf :yipee

Thank you everyone.
Chris come spring, if it arrives before summer, we will attach the string and fly this kite, I mean kit.
Some follow up pictures.
Paint radar on tail guns.

Added brass 20mm.
h2d14488.jpg

Added the plates over the sighting blisters.
As this is to be a B-36H Feather weight III.
The plates can be seen in the pictures of the real aircraft.
