Zvezda 1/72 Yak-3

Done!
I did the exhaust stains with Vallejo Tire Black with a touch of straight black. It was another first, free-handing that with an airbrush. Trigger control was really touchy and it got away from me a couple times. I'm using a Badger 150; are other models and brands any easier?

I took the new-plane freshness off the paint with burnt umber and black oils, thinned with white spirit. I'm really happy the white spirit didn't eat through the satin varnish.

I'm not at all happy with the hand-painted spinner, nor with the canopy frames, but it's good enough for normal eye distances. I want to move onto the next project, a simple diorama for the B-25. I've got a few items for it here already ;).

Nice, great that you can critique yourself and push forward. It looks great to me.
As far as brand of airbrush, to me it's ford vers chevy. I'm on the badger line and I'm happy with it. Not sure I want to pick up on another brand and learn new trigger techniques

I use a Badger 200 gravity feed. I have some 150's and felt they needed more air pressure than I liked to use because they are suction feed airbrushes, so they sit in the drawer.
