WIP of Tamiya's 1/32nd Mustang

Hello all, here is my rendition of the new Mustang. I am building more of a post war or airshow bird. I will be leaving the cockpit with a natural wood floor and covering this bird in foil.

Work has stopped on this build for the time being. We are currently in a very bad heat wave here in East Texas. I work in a shop all day long and when I leave it is around 110 degrees. Too dang hot if you ask me. By time I get home, I do not want to do anything. Hopefully this will not last long and I can get back to crack a lackin on this awesome kit.

Here's just a little of what I got done.

Re: WIP of Tamiya's Mustang

Which Tamiya Mustang is this? 48th or 32nd scale? I love the placards...

Regards,

Re: WIP of Tamiya's Mustang

Sorry, this is the 1/32nd one. I will update title if I can.

Re: WIP of Tamiya's Mustang

Since I haven't gotten to the cockpit yet, are the placards in the kit?

Re: WIP of Tamiya's Mustang

Is that a training hood over the instrument panel?

That floor looks amazing...I really like what you've done to the office!

Instructions calls it a instrument panel shroud.

Thanks every one, glad you like it.

it's just the sun shield over the IP. Most kits have that incorporated on the fuselage halves. Good resin sets would have you remove those parts and supply you with a replacement.

Very nice clean looking cockpit. Wow... two of these Mustang builds going at once.. :v

Hello gang, got some work done over the weekend. Engine assembled and wiring added. Radiator assembly built. Love the working parts on it. Every thing fell right into place.

Typical Tamiya, everything falls into place and they did a very nice job getting most of the details for a P-51D-30 and later batches.
