Before this goes any further,this is not meant to demean women drivers,or people who do not drive big rig. I had gotten permission to post this link. Please people. Pay attention while you are driving. There are consequences for actions like this. It is a major miracle she survived.

I don't get it,how come the driver went so far to the right side?
Has it something to do with some kind of vacuum effect? :hmmm

Wow that video is crazy. Was she trying to merge all the way from the far left lane to the turn lane? To me that's what it looked like. If so that is never a good idea. I know when I am driving I always think about 5 miles ahead on what I have to do. That way I'm never forced into making a quick lane change like that.
 
Yup I see that kind of driving all the time here in Memphis. People don't seem to pay any attention beyond 20 ft in front of their bumpers, and pretty much zip on the sides and back.

Glad the little gal lived to learn from her mistake and wasn't hurt any worse than she was.

They were trying to make the exit which had stand still traffic, that they didn't know.

Like I told Chad when he asked to post this, I know he's seen worse and I have also, they are lucky they got out alive.

The worse one I saw on the interstate. I was driving about 70mph (all the Scion XP could muster, scary car!) and faster traffic was passing on the left. There was a Ford F350 pickup (Very large pickup) tailgating a small car, didn't notice what it was. Well the driver of the small car decided to break check the truck and he slammed on breaks, hard. Sadly, the driver of the truck was not paying attention and literally drove over the small car. I saw car parts flying in the air all over the place but could not stop or risk being run over myself. If the driver of the car survived it would have been a miracle. Needless to say, I never break check someone, if they are that close on my bumper I get out of the lane and let them go. I got nothing to prove to them.

We have a local hill that people keep on overtaking trucks just to brake in front of them. I dont think most people realise how much more space a truck needs to stop.
 
Saw that at work today, and was blwon away by it.

Thankfully the woman is expected to make a full recovery. Cracked 2 vertebra in her back, and broke her wrist I think.
 
I have had way too many close calls over the 18 years driving big rig. Seen far too many wrecks that could have been avoided if only people would pay attention to what is going on around them. I know there are far too many big rig drivers a out there that need to be safer as well.

I got after one of our HR girls the other day, heading out from work on the highway and she had her elbows propped on the steering wheel holding her iPhone up to her face texting. :bang head She didn't listen to me but I hope she learns before something bad happens.
 
People drive like they're playing a video game, she ain't gonna pay attention cuase what she's doing is no different then texting while sitting on the couch watching a movie, which will really suck should reality TV jump out and :smack her. I did have somebody pull a brake check on me when I was fully loaded (y) I was paying attention and only pushed his trunk into the back seat :D , ford escort it was. Something to do with trying to merge into the side of my truck and being a little annoyed with my being there. :facepalm

Maybe showing her the video will help?

I've seen cars, with texting drivers, drift across multiple lanes of traffic. They've been lucky that the traffic is in tthe same direction.

I've lost very good friends to drunk drivers and to texting drivers. What I'd like to do to those people when the courts give them a love-tap on the wrist instead of serious prison time.

My cousin drives long haul big rigs and says that small 2 lane roundabouts are a nightmare because drivers try to pass him in the roundabout not realizing that his trailer is going to go into their lane as he's going through the roundabout.

I see I'm not the only trucker on board here! (y) :drinks I drove truck, Limos & Buses off & on for awhile & got out of it for a spell & been trying to get back to drivin' truck since DEC 2000. Seen too many wrecks that could've been avoided had the idgit been paying attention to the road & their surroundings!! Thankfully I've never had an accident in a big rig although I've been in the midst of a big pile up several times without being hit.
