Why aren't you building what you "really" want to?

I seriously splurged to get a worthwhile model of something I wanted since I was a child I got myself the Bandai Millenium falcon.

But my dreambuilds I will still say is a vietnam era F4E or a really nice looking F-16

Ha, that idea has really been tickling my mind as of late :idonno Of course it could never be in tiny scale . Maybe before too much longer .

Cheers, Christian B)
I have an F4E in 1/144 - 1/72 and 1/48

I would love to scratchbuild a 1/24 scale UH-60 Blackhawk.
I mean everything. The spars, the ribs, the whole kit and kaboodle along with the inside detail and then cover it with thin styrene followed up by rivets.
Buuuut, reality quickly sets in and tells me "no way, you can't even finish one helicopter model, let alone scratchbuild another".
I would also like to build a detailed UH-72 Lakota with Flatiron markings from Ft. Rucker!

There's so many nice kits out there, I know you could work wonders with a good base to start with.

I've thought and thought about this and I have no real answer other than I can and do side track myself. I'm my own worse enemy. As for what I really want to build or be working on would not be apart of this forum.

I would really, really :geek want to build a 1/35 U boot pen for my scratchbuilt type VII c/41 waterline Uboot model

I do own a 1/200 scale plan of the bunker ( i found on my trip to Lorient 2 years ago)

But in the way i build (plaster) it would be to much of a task and of course the space i need to build and to display it,but i know i can do it .

That would be incredible. you'd need a trailer to haul it around on. Maybe you could build it for a museum somewhere?

I'll take that into consideration ... My first kit was either a Polaris Sub or B-58 I can't remember which ... but what I really want to build is a great looking Dio ... (y)

What would the theme be?

Some type of armor emplacement

Ok I'll bump this ... as most of you know I started a build of a German Commander being sent to his new command ... in the Eastern Or Russian front ... I have collected different kits to make this and I started on the base for it ... It now lives up on the top shelf of the model room ... Which I've been trying to remodel ... Losing battle in my opinion ... I really can see this in my minds eye ... just haven't worked on it for awhile now ... :( :eek:hmy: :hmmm

My first kit was probably the old Revell USS Alabama. I've been to the museum several times as a child during family vacations. As to answering your question T, I am building what I want to build. My struggle is finishing. Many of you don't know, but I have bipolar disorder and PTSD. When I hit a depressive cycle, it is hard to get up the energy to do anything. I also tend to be overly critical of my builds and shelve a lot of them because they weren't turning out like my mind's eye wanted them to.

But things are getting better and being around positive people like y'all helps work through the tough times at the bench.

I said yes sure why not, i will build it for free...... But Here is my bill for the material i need ..

(still have to hear from them )

Only the sun comes up for free :D

I do know some of what you are going through Kenny. I get bouts of seasonal depression. Usually around this time of year and can be up through March. Am really battling with it right now along with insomnia. Just don't really want to do much. Got some decent meds for the insomnia from my doc monday so that will help on the fatigue and tired. All you guys and all the positive aura around here have been helping out on the depression a lot!

Usually what happens is I quit building and doing much anything at home. Hasn't been the case this time as I have gotten the running gear, suspension, and wheels done on both the T-90 and King Tiger lately. Just no paint yet. That takes a lot more doing for me. Even doing assembly though is a good thing.

Always enjoy doing assembly. Paint, -not so much... The Arizona has a bunch of sub-assemblies and they will have to be each painted before assembly and a LOT of PE detail. :drool
