Valentine Mk II

Okay I undercoated the chassis and the turret with Vallejo Bronze Green Primer. Then I painted them with a home made mixture of Vallejo Brown Sand and Saddle Leather and white. I was rough on the chassis and did not completely coat everything as the Sand Pink scheme was a local mod and I didnt think they would be really fussy. The turret received a coat of the sand pink and then a lightened very diluted coat in the center of panels. Had to try my new brush as my old one died. Let me know what you think of the pink. I think it looks okay.

She's shaping up now James. This is good for me to watch as my two Brit SPGs are coming up sooner or later. (y)

Darned air brushes. My Renegade died and so I am trying a new brush. Sprays okay but needs a bit higher air pressure. Trying to do cam though is annoying me. Cant get the pressure and mix right. My cam has some areas of nice coverage and some of streaks. Hope to get it sorted. Unfortunately I spent so long doing it my hand went numb up my arm. Now I'll probably have to wait a few days to try again. I'm really annoyed because I dont think I can even build at the moment. Just a wonderful end to my week.Pictures sometime.
James

PS thanks for the comments

Sorry about the troubles James, what happened to the Renegade? Let me guess, the tip split? I got one with a split tip right now.

Nope tip is fairly new. The paint just bubbles up inside the cup. Air flow out the front, I can feel it, but no paint flow. Put it through the sonic cleaner yesterday and still nothing. I dont get it. How can I have air flow yet the paint blows back??
James

Okay a couple of pics of the damage. I can either dry brush around the streaks to erase them or repaint the sand pink when I do the upper hull and sand skirts. Will decide as I go.

Oh and to rub salt in the wound the tank fell out of the car when I opened the door to take it into the hobby shop to show. Lucky only the MG post broke off.

Sure can't tell it took a spill James. I'd just hit a dab of the sand will cover the streak. Soldier on big guy!

Looking good James !!! Did you have any problems with the kit decals ? I had read online about a few problems with them disentagrating after dipping them in water ?

Hi Joey. I havent used the kit decals. I didnt want to do any of the schemes provided and so am using 3 sets of Archer Rub ons and will have to print some of my own for the Liverbird. Might actually make decals for the name also instead of the Archer letters. I dont know what the quality of the in box decals is like, sorry.
