Valentine Mk II

Okay, I know it doesnt look like much but my error impacts the build in a big way.

The rear plate should be under all the side plates. I tried moving it and succeeded in mangling the upper aft plate instead. Because of this the aft doors do not fit and as most of the pics I've found show, little was carried on the aft deck, so no hiding under stuff.

The engine panels on both side do not look proper and I couldnt quite put my finger on why until I realized my error. So now I have to start over again.

Tried cutting it Bob and then prying. Didnt work. Mike I can find many pics of this tank and none of them show stowage. Plus the doors on the rear do not fit at all because of the mistake and they are very very obvious. Its easier just to say oops, dont do that again and then start fresh for me.

It seems to be the same hull in both AFV Club kits. Since I can show battle damage (using the MiniArt Valentine radiators), do you want to trade hulls with one from my AFV Club kits?

James don't scrap it , don't give up .

You can put tarps or camo netting along the rear fender and troubled area .

These are Mk III's in the Pacific but hey you can put stowage on just about anything .

Your a lifesaver Saul. I appreciate it greatly. Have started the turret. Will post pics tomorrow.

Okay turret half done. Taped front on. Have to paint next then button it up. Having a heck of a time with the coaxial machine gun though.

And while looking for some air foil shaped struts I found this. Dont know when I built it, but it was a long time ago. Dont know where the rest of the parts are. I do know its made me want to build another.

Okay I dont have a picture, but I've been fighting with the coaxial machine gun today. The guard on it is very flimsy and the whole assembly doesnt fit in very well. I've managed to bend the guards a few times and so far have been lucky and not destroyed it. But the barrel is now a bit bent. Will try again this week and see if I can do better. So just a heads up to anyone building this tank.

Looking good James (y)

Great subject but apperantly not an easy kit, but you didn't give up!! Hang in there, I'm looking forward to your progress!!

Erik

Okay have been doing a bit of work. Saul has been kind enough to send me some replacement parts (a whole kit I believe) and so in the mean time I robbed my MkI in order to carry on. This is where I am now.
