Ultrasonic Cleaner for Airbrush

Thanks for sharing Ron. I just got an ultrasonic cleaner from the misses for Christmas, so this video is pretty handy!

Sweet. I've been hearing about these for years, but never looked too closely at them.

So after the video, I went shopping and spent about an hour reading reviews, etc. only to confuse myself further.

Seems like almost all of the small units are from one manufacturer with 'your name here' brand ID, and all around $30.

I'll order one after my head stops spinning.

Just like any of these type devices you get what you pay for. I resolved to get the mid range priced things and don't expect them to last long. Pretty much disposable. Unless you want to invest in a industrial type that could cost couple of hundred bucks, I bet it would last us a life time.

I have one that I got from Harbor Freight a couple years ago, and I absolutely love it.

When I use mine, I only put water in it, and if I want to clean w/ something other than water, I'll put the other fluid in a large plastic cup or container that will fit inside the tub on the cleaner.

It works excellent for cleaning my air brushes. I have an old Paasche VL that I've had for probably 16 or 17 years now, that had layers & layers of paint caked in it that I could never get out no matter how much I cleaned it, and after running it through my sonic cleaner, it got about 90% of that old paint off of it. I was extremely impressed.

You have it right there Adam, ultrasonic cleaning machines are designed for water with cleaners added. Here at the store we have a heavy duty unit for cleaning jewelry and it has a mixture with water and some seriously strong cleaning solution in it. Always remember to have soapy water in the unit (preferably before plugging it in) so yu don't blow the transducer and trash the unit.

As to solvents like acetone always put it in a jar or something with a lid and put the jar in the water.
