Trying to find pro-stock drag racing chassis info

One of the project's I want to get started soon, is a pro-stock Ford Ranger pickup, but all I have, is a vacuform body that's meant for slot car racing.

The plan is to build from scratch a chassis for it and then go from there.

But my issue is I have little experience w/ pro stock drag racing chassis's and was hoping anyone here might be able to point me toward places that I might get some ideas and specs on chassis's.

So far I've found a few really good shots of a pro-stock style S10 that was built by Banks called the Banks Sidewinder. They twin turbo'd a diesel engine, and put it in the truck.

But I'd like to find more info if possible.
 
Yea, I saw that earlier, and thats just amazing work. Far beyond what I plan. Im going to be using Evergreen rod for my chassis.

I think that Bickle chassis image will help, but I got really lucky yesterday.

While googling different terms, I came across a drag racing forum where a guy is building a Pro-Stock Chevy S-10 using the Bickle chassis, w/ probably over 100 pictures as he progresses through the build. Between those images, and some others I've managed to find, I think that I should be able to put together a semi-accurate chassis for my build.

Im hoping to start w/ the build in the next few weeks. Before I can get too far, I have to figure out what to do about an engine and suspension, so those things might push the start back.

Get a '57 Chevy Sportsman or a Nova ProStreet kit..... They will serve as great templates for this and future builds. Or you could cut out and replace in current kit with the Nova rear-end. Additionally the Sportsman's frame is universal enough to build stringers for most bodies. If doing a truck I'd go with Nova though. If you need pics of any of my ProStreet kit's chassis let me know. Additionally I have some NHRA articles in PDF on the cage rules etc... That really help with dialing in the scale and how to build the right chassis for the right car weight, engine, and speed. Note: there are different rules for different classes with regard to tube size, shape, material, cage placement, etc... Simply off of weight, engine, speed. Lastly, I have a like (can't remember it off the top of my head now) that's saved in my bookmarks on my government computer; it was a treasure trove of infor for me for reference pics, info, etc... Will post to this thread from work tomorrow. :stinker

Thanks for the info Shannon, I might actually have one of those sportsman kits, I'll definitely have to take a look and see.

And I hope you post that link you referred to, I love to get all the reference info that I can get my hands on.
