This is my second kit finished after a year or so break from the hobby, a great kit and fun to build i had planned a whitewashed finished but it went bad due to crackling so changed plans and went for the beat to death look :)

Really nice, I like the depth of the weathering and paint job (y)

thanks guys this began with a whitewash that went horrible wrong so i stopped blogging the process and decided to try save the day with the worn grey finish if i had know it was going to turn out ok i would have logged it but there was a point i wasnt sure here are some pics of what i did get.

i managed to clean the white off and it looked like this.

did some dot filtering/streaking with oils also some chips were added with a piece of wire wool and dark brown paint.

pigments added to running gear by sprinkling the different colours on then setting them with alcohol.

after that there were just lots and lots of thin oil washes applied all over and finaly some pigments to finish her off but that where i stopped logging :S
 
What do you think happened to the whitewash, put the white on too quickly before the undercoat dried?
