Somewhere near Phoenix AZ. Parents went there a couple of weeks ago to visit my step dad's Mom. Gary is a radio and Astronomy nut so visiting this place was natural...

YES!!! I loved that place. We would alway stop by there on the way to or from the beach. They had an old C 124 out there and they would open the nose and tail. Can't remember everything they had there. What year did they dismantled it? That C124 is sitting at Charleston AFB now.

Seen this? This is ironically, a tourists view of that place- i havn't found a local...

grew up in Flotown, I remember going to this museum back in the early 70's.

I have seen that site, shame they closed the museum. I can't believe they burned the Connie!

Greetings to all;

Bob,

Attic Aircraft makes a quarter scale Atlas, Titian II, and other ICBMs

.... To get one you have to... :pp

1. Write him a nice letter, and may-haps be... you will catch him on a good
day.

2. you will have to bid on them on e-bay. This is the normal way he sells
his produces. It is good for him, but quite frankly, I think it sucks.

He makes his resin models in batches, so you may have a delay getting what
you want. *** unless it is one of the items, he has listed for auction ***,
then there will be no delay after you send him the money. For this he
is set Io to use pay-pal. Although sense I have known him for a number of
years, and bought many of his products, I talk him into a fixed price,
and then send him a MO. The guy is a little fickle.... but he does make
some great resin model kits.

I have the Redstone with a mercury capsule. I also have The Atlas lifting
body, with the Mercury capsule. The Titan II is one of my favorites, of
course I have the Gemini capsule on this one. To complete the scenario
there are several versions of the Saturn V on the market....... :mpup

Bob I was living at the Beach when they began chopping that place up- everytime i would come home something else would be gone! This was early 90's. By the time I left Florence in 1990, the museum had stopped growing and had begun to implode, my favorite, the B-47 was sent to GA where it was remothballed.

Someone had mentioned the interior of the 47 had rotted out and this was true of most of the stuff there, just no money to keep it going. I'm glad that as a kid I lived in Florence and saw that place in its salad days back in the early 70's. They had an open house about the time the first Star Wars movie came out, they opened up most of the aircraft and began plans to expand the museum but something happened, a death or whatever...just plain sad. :( :vmad
