The flooding is terrible down in Australia and tales of tragedy are abounding.

Meanwhile Brazil is facing serious flooding and rain related problems also.

Lets hope the storms are ending and things will get back to a semblance of normal. I hope all our friends are okay. Sing out that your safe.

My thoughts and prayers to all affected.
James

Good show James, maybe we can find some of the various, replicable, groups who we can donate what we can to get aid to those who need it most.

For the Queensland floods in Australia, please see -

People can make a donation to the Premier's Flood Relief Fund.

Things are pretty dramatic in Southwestern Brazil (São Paulo, Minas Gerais and specially Rio de Janeiro - all of these are States).

There are more than 500 dead and almost triple that missing (most expected to be gone too): the flooding is particularly bad in the city of Teresopolis, Rio de Janeiro State, where many slopes came down leaving great havoc in their wake... really, really, sad images of people who lost not only everything they had, but sometimes their whole family. More than 30 thou houses gone, or condemned. These things shouldn't happen... :( Effing politicians only worry about filling their pockets, instead of adequately managing these issues!!!

Thanks for remembering the Aussies and of us, James! Hope everyone will help with their good thoughts and maybe a little donation, if possible - I know things are rough for most in this moment.

Cheers and lets hope it stops to rain!

How are you where you are? Safe?

We're safe, alright - we live in Southern Brazil (Parana State), which is pretty far from where all the drama's taking place (Southwestern Brazil). We're some 750 miles from São Paulo, 900 miles from Rio and 850 miles from Minas Gerais, and those are the places where things are happening...

It's a true tragedy. We had never seen anything like this here in Brazil. It's simply the biggest natural disaster of all times for us.

But things will get back to normal again with time: I just hope the authorities will do something about this kind of thing - it's a predictable kind of disaster!

Cheers! :)

Thanks Moon, we're okay down here... But the guys in the Southwest region will need everyone's prayers: the weather-man is predicting another four days of rain in all the affected areas!

Seeya, :(

Strange weather and serious consequences. Here's hoping it all dries up and the rebuilding starts soon.

Regards,

Our Aussie friends are getting hell too: I just saw on the telly that the flooded area over there is the equivalent of France and Germany put together! :eek:hmy: And to get things worse, they have those incredibly large crocs wading around... My heart is out to you people! Hope everything comes back to normality very soon!!!

PS: just heard on the news that some 30 people died in Sri Lanka, also due to flooding... :(
