The Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles

Hey Everyone,

MODELGURU & Myself, along with some fellow AMPSCV( AMPS Central Virginia)members went up to The Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles in Nokesville V.A., which is near Manassas V.A., today to their annual Open-House. They display Their collection of Armor .... but there is a Twist ... ALl of Their Tanks & Military Vehicles are RUNNERS :woohoo: :woohoo: Yes .. That's right Kiddies... They all Run !!! :gogo . They drive some of their tanks around a Dirt Track, & had a Live Action demo with a WWII Flame Thrower, they showed how the Marines attacked a Fixed position( with Sherman & LVT back-up :woohoo: , JENNY- you would have loved to have seen that- aren't you building a Pacific LVT ?) They had an entire Squad complete with a Flamethrower :evil: - hot stuff !! I shot about 200 pix & 20 minutes worth of Video, but for th sake of space I'll show a Few here. All that I show I also have more detailed shots !! Sadly for Me, they only have one piece of German Armor & th Czech 08-T (251 knock-off)

This tank needs no Intro, but I do apologize for not gettin a Full Frontal ! SO here are some interior shots ...

Now It's time to raise a little Hell :evil: another clean resto !! This one was rescued from Bosnia & was in service hmy: .... until it took an RPG round in the rear of th Turret ! It still has th tiny hole made by th rocket ! Before that it Saw action in WW II

OH Man !! A good time was had by ALL !! Can't wait for th Private VIP tour during th 2011 AMPS INTERNATIONAL SHOW in APRIL ! More on that soon. Look for Me to post an E-Blast here on TnT soon. I'll give ya' th Inside Intel on all that will go down during th Annual Event !!

Hi Erik,

Great fun indeed! The T-62 is actually a T-55. The roadwheel spacing is the identifier that it isn't a T-62. While it may also be a T-54, most Czech exports are of the T-55.

The Jagdpanzer 38 was a G-13 converted to look like it's WWII progenitor.

I can't recall the name but someone with close ties tot hat museum used to take lots of videos on VHS.

Hey Shark,

I'm not quite up on My Russian Armor as I should be. & I wasn't aware that th Hetzer wasn't really a Hetzer

They also had a British Centurion !! Here are a Few more !!

I think this is a Real Israeli Sherman in th Shed awaiting Restoration !!

Yes, the M-50 is an actual one. I had photos of it when it was being restored on a farm.

I have a bunch of pics to add just need to sort out which ones from the 400 that I took and several videos .
&0 of those pics are a t-55e that I have been wanting to do a scratch conversion on ..... soon that will begin.

Here's th link to the VMMV open house http://www.vmmv.org/ . I'm not sure where you are located but the VMMV is located in Nokesville which is a suburb of Manassas V.A. Take th Dumfries exit off of 95.

Not to get too far off topic, I found some Good seats & $$ on E-Bay , just to let ya know ! I hope They get more than 9 wins ! I'm really interested to see how Jason Campbell does .... I'm not holding My breathe, I'm optimistic with trepidation !
