Tamiya PAK40/L46 Antitank Gun

Iron Mike

Master At Arms And Resident Curmudgeon
Hello Friends!
As a diversion, I decided to build this kit last year. It sat on the shelf about half finished, while more exciting projects were built. In typical Tamiya fashion, it builds up well, can be posed in several positions and comes with a three man crew. I purchased the kit for about $3.00 on sale at one of the local hobby/craft stores, so I guess I got my money's worth  Sorry, no step by step photos:(

I started the painting with Tamiya Semi Gloss Black, followed by Tamiya German Grey base coat, then base coat lightened with Tamiya Flat White. After that dried several days, I used SIN Industries Blue For Panzer Grey Filter, followed by MIG Neutral Wash to enhance the panels and then pin washed the lines with Burnt Umber oil. I used Citadel Washes Devlan Mud, Gryphonne Sepia and Badab Black on the various areas to break up the grey monotony then topped it all with some random MIG powders. After looking at the pix on the computer, I see several areas that need work, I'll post the revisions as they happen. Comments and suggestions are always welcome. (y)

Yes Mike!...the faded look on the Panzer grey looks cool...how long to do this one,my friend?

Best regards!

Luiz.

Chris, I got tired of moving it around for shelf space and decided to paint it in between other sessions. I tried out a bunch of new stuff on this one, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. :D

Luiz, the build took a long time, because I didn't focus on finishing it. The actual painting time is less than 4 hours, I think. I really need to touch up the tires and a few other places that show up in the pictures. :blink Thank you!
