Taking a Swing at it

I should have spent more time on the shadows and a drybrush but I think it'll do it's job for now. :mpup

thanks guys.

Well if your being picky, I think the rivets are too probounced. Should be flush on that model. And the chain seems to be a scale smaller than called for. And the obligatory hornets nest is missing in the upper structural support.  :D :D :D

I'm not sure they were ever produced in that color. :hmmm Of course, there may be that well known magazine wanting to purchase the rights to the pix!! :D

Well it is workable...actually swings back and forth, side to side also but you know that's never done in real life.... :mpup

I'm confused. Is this an early or mod version of the swing? I thought the early models had zimmerit.

Field Mod, it was confirmed today that the frame was built in the maintenance department of Abney Mills in Newry SC.

Dang... you were serious about getting this thing done! It would have sit around my place for years before getting on it

Looks fantastic too (y)

To tell the truth, it had been sitting around for years, My Bride has asked me countless times to do this, guess guilt finally caught up to me and I figured to git'er done.

M/P
I love it, (y) :D but "You might be a Red Neck If..." comes to mind.
I just want to know if the kids (who's swing set you pinched) ;) are still crying about
it???:hmmm :eek:hmy:
Next question, how many drinks do you have to have before you try and make the swing
go around the top bar.. :eek:hmy: :eek:hmy: :eek:hmy: :eek:hmy: :woohoo:
Come on, I know it's gone through your mind.
What is the ratio of sand bags to hold that puppy down, when you get it swinging?:idonno :pp
Or are there plans to cement it in?
Does look great though.

Shawn I doubt my 87 year old Ma-in Law is going to be trying to go over the top in this thing, but you never know, she's feisty. Shoot, as much as the swing itself weights, doubt it's going anywhere. The frame has a rich history and hasn't left that yard in nearly 45 years other than yesterday when we sanded and primed it, so the kids we swiped it are the ones who came up with the idea to do this. :mpup

Shew.....That makes me feel better (y) Guilt is a great motivator

Very nice job and it looks like it's good for another 50 yrs (y)
