Seems that if you needed to open the hatch for the periscope they would also had a grab iron so you didn't have to stick your head out to close it. :hmmm

But what do I know, it's a tank :idonno

Really cool stuff Terry - never built a StuG myself but I love your ways with colours - very subtle shades and smooth transition.
