Stug III auf C/D (Cyberhobby Dragon rebox)

Hi,

I have several unfinished projects standing around my worktable, so it was time to finish something before I can start a new kit. This is one of the almost finished projects, no specific name, just a rebox from Dragon in a orange box from Cyberhobby. Nothing special, an old kit with some one decal set, which means that I could only finish this project in a wintercamouflage, because the figures are wearing winterclothes.

But I decided to make my own version, dark yellow, bit dirty, lot of stowage from Black Dog and two figures from Warriors.

I have to finish al the part, the Stugg, stowage and figures, so it's not totaly finished.

Very nice, I've seen pictures of a lot of these type tanks with stowage all over the place, on the back deck. Were their any ports or sections that had to be avoided, air intakes or exhaust or even access panels?

MOONIE,

Naw, you could pretty much heap as much crap as you could get on th back of a STUG. The Stug has plates that cover the vents & sit above them to give an Air Gap ... if that makes sense. If you've seen the back of a Pz III - exact same, take away th Pz III turret & replace with th super structure of th STUG III.

Hmmm any Idea why this image won't post ?

The air intakes are on the outside. the long rectangular trough with the screens. & Armored covers also facilitate air into the engines - Those covers on the rear - 2 on th left & 1 on th right. They actually sit off of the Deck to provide an Air Gap. SO, no worries ... stack all you can on there ... it's a long ride back to Berlin !

Not sure about the image Erik, I see it, it's a funky URL you have there, should be a direct url to your image. I'll check it out and thanks for the info.

Opps... I do know the problem. There was an update to the gallery software last night and I forgot to dot an I when it was complete...Will fix ASAP.

Thanks everybody.

I'm still a bit working on the tarp and the stowage, it's to shiny, but I have fixed that with some change of colour. Also the figures need some extra work, so there will be another update soon.

I love to see how things change by applying filters/washes or what ever technique use to enhance the monotone colors. Saw a technique where one mixes up flat/semi-matt and matt finishes to get the look they were wanting.

Neat stuff, thanks for sharing with us!

Heres a quick fix for the tarp and stowage

Mask em off and give them a quick shot of Testors dullcote
This does 2 things obviously the first one it makes everything dead flat and second is that it seems to blend in the blending if you get what I mean

If anything is too dull then do a touch up here and there

Nice job though I like em :)

Thanks for your help. I have decided to make a change to the tarp, because when I looked at my own pictures I found it a bit dull. So the color is changed and I'm busy with the last parts and if everuything is finished I will share the photo's.

In de meantime I finished the Stug and offcourse it can beter, different, think about it, but I'm happy with the result and have put the Stug away. A new project is on the table, the Ontos with some extra parts.

But, before closing, the last pictures, hope you like them.
