Sr-71 Blackbird - 1/48th Testors WIP

The model is made by testors and its really a big pain in the.... Still with some work I think it will become a great model!!! I bought the Cutting Edge cockpit detail and I'm currently searching for the exhausts but I'm loosing my hopes on that!!

Getting my hands dirty!!!

Getting some parts ready

Lots of glue and clamping

Since I couldn't get the exhausts from cutting edge I used the ones provided in the model

Seats painted with gunze H317

Starting the panels

This brushes are really thin... and bad!!!

More Work on the cockpit and the C-2 Ejection Seats ...

Still a long way to go... the nozzles have had lots of putty and sanding

I started the work on the fuselage ... Did a dry fit so you can see the size of this beast:

Very nice! I have the same kit but with True Details cockpit and wheel sets.

Don't think I've ever seen someone mask the cockpit for painting. Looks like you're whipping this right into shape Pedro.

Very ambitious project. Large model of a large aircraft. Seems I've reas it was a difficult model to build.

did you see those ejector pin marks? they look like bullet holes. I think you will do a bang up job Pedro

Its really a project that is wearing me out !!
Im tired of so much putty and sanding and the deadline is coming really close!

The sanding and filling wore me out since the plastic is strange. On my example, it gets 'stringy' (hiloso) when I sand.

Sometimes I wonder of the smaller scales represent these large subjects better.
