Spray on snow

As all modellers do at some stage, I was rummaging around a $2 shop the other day and they had cans of Christmas snow like the stuff you spray on windows.

Has anyone tried using this stuff on a kit? Did it work or did it just kill the pain work & plastic? :idonno
