Doing some research on the battle for Arnhem, for my Stug,I found this:

Original SEP 19 1944 aerial reconnaissance picture from battlefield Oosterbeek / Arnhem area fade in and out in Google Earth. Check out the Septemer 17 18 19 LZ DZ Renkum and Wolfheze, Renkum, Ginkel, and Arnhem bridge overlays. Market Garden, Battle of Arnhem fade back in time! See the gliders appear at the exact modern spot, only almost 70 years later. See the changes appear!

Greetings,Ron.

Wow! I had seen something similar around the Pegasus bridge landing area. Also interesting is how much of the land is still used as farm versus wooded area.

Very cool Ron. I wish I had of gone up that way when I was posted to Germany. Maybe one day I'll win the lottery and make it over.

Shalom.

I remember reading Cornelius Ryan's book A Bridge Too Far and it had photos of the landing sites taken (IIRC) in the 1960's and you could see the ghostly images of the gliders still appearing on the sites.

Cheers from Peter
