Some days modeling sucks

Oh well what can you do. Trying new paint, the AK real colours. The portland stone did not go on as well as I would have liked but its not bad. Waited a few days and masked this morning and painted the silver grey. It went on better. Unfortunately while masking I noticed something off. Looking closer it finally dawned on me. The front 2 vision ports are on backwards. I'm sure I glued them correctly and there were guides so how did I install them backwards. Then a light bulb went off. The whole assembly is on backwards. Arrrrgggghhhh What we have here is an ID 10 T problem. Oh well at least I can practice the Caunter scheme and when done this will just go to the back of the cabinet lol.

Sonuva.......

I know it's not any consolation...but I likely never would've known, of course armor isn't my forte either.

I TOTALLY understand and feel your pain. I'm 52 and don't enjoy having to wear glasses so sometimes I think I can get by with not wearing them but it tends to backfire from time to time. Like on my Me-262 build I was working on the landing gear and had this really nice Eduard brassin wheel/ tire set. Well.....you've gotta cut the rims from the resin blocks and sand the backs down to fit perfectly in the tire which is no problem because they look really good. The problem comes in when I sanded the WRONG side due to not having my friggin' glasses on. Had to order a whole new set to replace the one rim face.......

lol and ouch to the video. Nope cant pop off the parts, they are one with the model. Will just finish it and maybe get another for these markings. And ditto, I'm old lol.

You could build it as a French Crusader. Then the vision blocks would point the right direction for RETREAT!
Look Men, a bad day of modeling is still better than a good day of work!
Buck up there, Lil' Canadian Camper!
"Rise again! Rise again!" Perhaps dear ol' Stan can lift your spirits!

Oh man, I know how you feel. I'm working on two models; among others: a French AMX APC and an Israeli Nagmashot. I made faster progress on the Nagmashot, but something kept nagging at me that I did something wrong. When I went to work on the suspension and tracks of the much smaller French APC, that's when it hit me: I had put the small APC tracks on my Israeli APC! There's no way I can remove them without destroying the model so they are staying on. Yeah, major ID 10 T faux pas!

Thanks Joe. No worries. I did contact Alexey at ACE and he's gonna be sending out new tracks for the French APC, along with the proper sprues to finish the Sho't Kal Alef.

Life goes on!
