Schienenwolf + Div railroad accessories

Thanks Laura, that was a nice pic, i wonder if that's a c12 or c14? probably a c14.
it's really confusing how these where painted, one says that the red was after the war and then you have them in the DB green colour and also black, german grey and dark yellow! and then all the different details, i think not 2 was the same! :D

red brown was used with the K.Bay.St.B - the royal bavarian states railway. but only on some locomotives in the palatine.

dark green was the DRG regulation color for diesel locomotives and black for the suspension parts. the red lower body was used with the east german reichsbahn after the war but not with the pre BRD DRG (i looked up the info on the lower carriage to be sure and to correct my previous post).

post war DB used bright red (and black for the suspension) for Diesel locomotives on shunting duties.

you can't get wrong with the sark green/black combination. i don't know of any loco being painted in camo but it surely was done occasionally.

as for the interior, i'd say that white would be ok, white or the outside color. dark grey surely not.

Maybe white with a bit of buff or beige mixed in? That would tone it down. Or if you can find a paint like this http://www.ak-interactive-usa.com/product-AK092.html

Wow thanks for the info :) now i must try and find that green... is that a matt colour or gloss (semigloss) any paintnumbers?

In doing research for my BR-52 locomotive that will go into the Logistics diorama, I talked to a German RR expert who lives in Chicago. He immigrated from Germany after the war and came highly recommended to me.

I love the red undercarriage on the black locomotives and was all set to paint it that way. He said that before and after the war, German trains sometimes used the red on the undercarriage, but NEVER during the war. I was a little disappointed, but as the guy has written many books on the subject, I believe he knows what he is talking about. All black it will be.

No idea if that pertains to diesels.

I'm building rigth now the BR52 and I have some books and mostly the interior is red when the undercarriage is also red and some have a grey interior, but that is mostly after war trains.

Nice work on the interior, the extra detail is looking great!

f**ked it up with painting :vmad thought i try the antique white that came with the badger airbrush...... big misstake :bang head first it was so thick as whipped cream, then after a lot of thinner (tamiya x20a)then it is still messing up (not covering good and spitting and dripping from the AB) i go paint it with a brush now, can't be worse than it is now.... :stinker

maybe not tightly sealed so it got thicker, can be the operator to :(
Managed to put a couple more layers on and when all the cat hair was pulled out of the paint it will have to do.
Next problem is to paint the red handles, i always have problems with getting it to cover good, wish i just could leave it to someone that did the painting......

Ok, managed to clean up the white mess, and i painted the handles red, the wheels will be blackish.

Also painted the wooden floor, just the oils left to do.
Here you also see the scratched heater for the cabin, not sure they had it but i saw one in a photo, can be after war addition (i call it artistic freedom :D )
