Rolls Royce - 1914 Armoured Car

and not trying to labour the point I made a couple of weeks back, the new photo backdrop really makes a h*ll of difference, Laurence.

Looks superb, matey :good: .

Ian

Thanks Terry :notworthy

Too true about the backdrop and thanks Ian, it does make a big difference - still work to do on this one but getting close. Then figure, base, terrain, the whole lot. This will be a vignette / small dio, working out the details here demanding stuff :blink

Laurence , stellar build on a rather difficult to assemble kit .
Paint up is sweet and it overall looks the look !!!

Cheyenne & James - way too kind gents, way too kind.

One thing I agree with though is the fact that this kit is ...ummmm .... difficult. THANK GOD for Micro Kristal otherwise the headlights and search light on top the turret would have looked dreadful.

Stowage still to come, this will be part of a little dio that will celebrate 100 years since WW 1, 100 years of armored cars, 100 years of war photography. Still to figure out the details but I do have a rough sketch in mind.

Cheers,

Laurence

Not so much done this week - bit slack :smack

Sides have received some weathering, there is the light on top the turret that is waiting a final coat of paint and the MicroKristal treatment, plus the sign that says SUPERB. That's a weird one because the plate is a flimsy piece of plastic, there is no way that could be glued in place, needs brackets :vmad

Anyway, this is the model at the mo, bit more painting needed and some more weathering ... sheesh, lots of work.

Superb indeed. :soldier

Thanks MP - some more work done - sign on turret is now up so is the search light and a heavily weathering process is taking place - first a wash with Humbrol Matt72, do create the streaks I dipped the brush in rectified turp and gently brushed some areas. I intend to give it a final was with raw umber and a pin wash too. I tried the raw umber on top the Matt 72 and I quite liked the look. Please feel free to comment :D
